What happened to Chris Wilson?

interesting side note, I speculated on what went down in the 3.26 news post thats got everyone upset again (really JUNE?) and it was deleted, sooo yeah.
So I'm wondering if we're going to have to call Chris "he who shall not be named" at some point? All I'm saying is, if I disappear it wasn't an accident (this is a bad whistleblower joke for anyone outside the USA who doesn't get the reference) Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4. If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. " Hey, I totally understand what you said here, and that the situation can be frustrating, or even surprizing. That being said I would also point out that it is not a so uncommon situation to remain silent, especially in this industry for too many reasons that I won't list here, by respect (and to avoid derailing the topic). Chris is a normal person too you know, did his job for so many years, something happened and he had to move on, silently at least for now, and that's pretty much it, both him and GGG don't owe us any explanations here. At the end of the day all we can do is wishing him good health, and best of luck for whatever comes next. :) Hf :) Last edited by Heli0nix#0378 on Mar 7, 2025, 12:14:39 AM

Chris needed "game development friction" to give the game "Weight" and not make it all feel too easy.

Thank god he is gone. |

" personally, i've been defending ggg a huge lot. whenever people say GGG promised that they would put equal resources into both games i keep telling them theyre misremembering. coz GGG staff has always been careful not to say that. until one fateful day someone actually showed me the clip where chris actually did and i had to eat my words [Removed by Support]

splitting 1 and 2 was smart

1 is full of trash that should be purged. I think his vision of the game sucked. I really like him. But if he was the force behind Archnemisis mods, he had to go. Everything from Kalandra forward is sweaty ass. |

" he heavily pushed for AN we still have AN to this day. i still hate it. i would argue that any form of vision evaporated with maven. fighting 10 bosses at once wasnt anything related to skill. instead its more of showing dominance by either outlasting or bursting them down before they overwhelmed you. exact same thing with the feared. i am strong enough to clear it but i will admit i lack any skill to avoid damage if the fight prolonged. also i have a bone to pick with mavens memory game. i have the skill to dodge and outlast bosses in poe2. for trial of sekhema it took me 4 minutes to kill the boss but i didit. the memory game forgoes skill. if you have bad mental facilities u'll just die. end of story. ive tried everything , memorizing based on left rights/ numbering 1-2-3 etc. i sometimes get it but most of the time i cant. i only can memorize things when not under pressure. i m not the only one. many have bitched about it and yet after all these years the memory game persists as is. all in all i m just bitching. its not like i m playing poe1 anymore lol [Removed by Support]

" I had the same problem with Maven for quite awhile. Finally when I decided to save up 15 writs and just bang them all off in a row I nailed it down pretty easily, then went and did 3 uber mavens with 1 portal afterwards. I was always too nervous doing one off Maven fights, I would not see the orbs from all the clutter and just totally brick my arena. One day of practice and smooth sailing now. |

They should have never been separate games.

" nope. It is a shit state of alpha. If we are testing all act and all classes, then may be it should be called beta. This is the start of forum signature: I am not a GGG employee. About the username: Did you know Kowloon Gundam is made in Neo Hong Kong?

" No such thing as true beta or alphas these days. Too many twits got quite content to throw money at companies, for unfinished, half baked, barely playable (sometimes not even released at all) games / game companies. Really, at the end of the day, if you want shitty games / game companies to go away... Stop giving them more money. GGG - Why you no?
