PoE 2 is boring and not fun

Hmm, I have an idea! How about if you people who love PoE 1 kept playing PoE 1? Likewise, how about the people who love PoE 2, keep playing PoE 2?

I played PoE 1 for just one league and, unfortunately, I joined too late and there was already an absurd amount of content that was not reachable for new players. I eagerly awaited PoE 2 precisely because of the promise that the game would be VERY DIFFERENT from its predecessor in terms of gameplay, and would maintain a reasonable level of complexity for anyone who wanted to learn and start playing. Im currently doing t10-t11 maps without looking at any guides and that was precisely what i was expecting for this new game. You just hav to read your passives to be able to figure out how to make your own build stronger. For someone that played only 120 hours of PoE 1 thats awesome.

In my opinion, the game is EXCELLENT, fulfilling the promise it made. Most of the constructive feedback (example: teleportation between checkpoints, balance on drop rates, etc...) is also pretty cool. Now trying to make PoE 2 look exactly like 1 with better graphics is also pathetic xD.

The later you join the easier it is to access ALL content. The base items you need to put together a build that can complete all content are cheaper the later you join unless you join at the very end, and even then you will probably have enough content to play that you will be sick of it by the reset if you're truly brand new.

You don't have to like poe1, but don't pretend to understand why the core fans would be concerned or disappointed when you have only ever played half a league and probably didn't even make it to red maps.

I think I wasn't clear when I said I came in "late". I meant that I came into PoE late, not specifically in that league, but in the game as a whole. If you try to play that shit without using any guide, with so much accumulated content, it's impossible.

And just to make it clear, I know very well what you said, because when I joined the league it was no longer a start, so more than one person offered me items for free. But I play this type of game without buying items, I prefer to craft. I only sell to get currency and make my own item.

Ah, last edit, as I said in my post, if you like PoE 1, you can continue playing PoE 1. Even though I'm a new player, as far as I remember following the news, the devs made it clear that PoE 1 will remain active precisely for people like you, who haven't adapted to the new game :)

He's still right. All content is easier to access after the league it came from because they buff drop rates, since it wont be in every single map. PoE 2 has so far been lackluster in it's super early access for having been in development for 6 whole years and building off a game that has practically monopolized the genre.

Sure, my point is: there is constructive criticism from a player who understands that this is a new game, based on an absolute success. And there is the criticism from the guy who thinks that PoE 2 is just a remodeled PoE 1. Early access is precisely for this, but there are people who will complain about bugs like spoiled children, even though there is a giant warning saying that the game is not ready, even after those whole 6 years of development.
The problem is not the criticism, but how it is made. Kripparrian made a video with a lot of criticism of the game and I bet GGG loved hearing his feedback.
Yeah I take your point.

I think the concern for most PoE 1 fans is that despite what GGG claims they will end up trying to sunset POE1 or treating it like a low priority.

I know they claim they won't but our last league was literally just a redo of the one before it. I'm gonna need to see a great league in January to feel good about the future, as PoE 2 is too simplified to replace poe1 for me.

To clarify, I think all RNG no real crafting and the updated tree are both terrible. I don't have a problem with the supposed "difficulty"
I also have my doubts as to whether they will actually keep them both in the long term. I sincerely hope that these months leading up to the game's official launch serve to improve what has everything it needs to be an excellent game and that the PoE 1 player base won't be so affected, after all they promised.

But it is a remodeled poe1... You would have to be delusional if you think they're actually going to keep developing 2 very similar games that inherently compete with each other for market share. We all know it's a new game, but we have expectations of what that game is based on what we've been playing and supporting for a decade. I don't want zoom zoom but I would take the feedback of a long time player over a new player who doesn't understand why the passive tree is lackluster.

Also GGG probably did listen to Kripp because he literally was the entire advertising for the first game. He literally made the game as popular as it was in closed beta by himself, to the point where he's in the credits. If it wasn't for Kripp, there is a good possibility GGG wouldn't exist right now. Also his criticism was essentially to make the game more like poe1, so I'm not sure why you mention him

Sunset is inevitable, notice how GGG is already making 2.0 versions of PoE 1 Leagues. After they've imported all the old Leagues to the new game and players feel like the first one is redundant, thats when the PoE 1 stops development. On the bright side in the future we might get a retail offline PoE 1 with all the wonders of modding when developers don't worry about the balance anymore.

I mentioned him because he started his feedback saying "Poe 2 is a PRETTY GOOD GAME", even tho showing lots of points to improve OR to be more like PoE 1. You see the difference between this and the TITLE of this topic?
I feel sad to add my words in this topics but i admit i'm agreee with everything in first page.
PoE2 is boring and not fun to me.
The amount of "bad" (to me, even if i would like to say dogshit) design choices is just amazing. Some of them already discarded long time ago in poe1 for generally good reasons.
I can't force myself anymore to test this EA. I'm stuck in last boss act2. I already optimised (resistances, ...) it for the boss with all the bad/ruthlessmyassfckingstupiddesign gear i get, maxed my gems and so on. I fall asleep and won't try 10hours more to change my non meta build.
I'm sad to say i don't even like the graphics of poe2, neither the musics.
When i check from streamer how is the endgame, then i don't want to go there.
The okish thing is probably the WASD gameplay that can be effective in combat but surrounded by so many bad designs ...

Anyways, i'm just another player since poe1 beta, nearly played every league since and hoping to get a new good arpg with fresh good ideas in the universe of poe. PoE2 is definitely not PoE1. ^^ I'm glad i didn't pay acess to PoE2 EA because "the vision²" is a total miss to me for now.
I can't imagine leveling a poe2 char every few months, neither leveling my only one in EA. -_-
I'll check the changes while playing something else but at this point i think the vision² is just not for me and my wallet.

GL ggg !
