PLEASE HELP !!!!!!! I merged my accounts and lost everything

I just wish between the two accounts on your website not in game I don't even care about my POE one stuff if you can delete that and give me my newest account with my characters back I'd be happy with that

And my 300 coins for the supporter pack is now wiped also because that's the account I bought it under. Crazy.

Steam/X box same stuff, same process. The mistake come from the way you login, even if it's using same email, if you create 2 different accounts, 1 using classic email/password and 1 using Xbox creds, it's just create 2 different unlinked account.

You just don't create a new account if you already have one (and want to keep it ofc). When you first have your account through Xbox so you log using Xbox connexion method, you keep it that way. If you want to be able to connect using email/password without using the Xbox method and keep all your info/microtransactions.. then you need to follow the process mentioned earlier to link an email/password to the account, you don't simply just create a new account directly.

All right it did not recognize my original account when I downloaded POE 2 I have not played on anything other than the same Xbox I'm using right now it didn't recognize the account so I made a new one then I couldn't use the in-game chat it doesn't matter man whatever you got it.

If you merged both accounts then you should have a subaccount and can switch from one to the other.

Check this post, on guy put an image of how subaccount works. You should have this, select the subaccount you created your character and it should be ok.

Im in the exact same boat but with ps5...I did the whole merge accounts thing....from my playstation 5, in game, i went to the trade screen and then i could acces the website from my ps5..and after merging i just went back and kept playing the game no problem...but later that night i went back to play again and everything was gone....even the save data on the ps5 its showing save data as 0kb?? i dont know what happened to the guild i created, the money that was in the guild?? my main poe account on the webpage shows all the money transfare details for poe2 but it only shows my level 1 character from poe1...If anyone got a way to recover the character i owe you big time.

The above post is exactly my current situation on PS5.
I lost all progress on POE2. Though I haven't touched POE1 in years, it's the only account it will let me select to log on despite merging the accounts.
I also never received the 300 coins since it's tied to my "new"/PS5 account.
I sent a support ticket a week ago, but haven't received a reply, automated or otherwise.

This has LITERALLY just happened to me.

I purchased POE2 early access on Xbox Series X. My character didn't show when I signed in on this website using my axbox account, though I have an email on Dec 7 recognising my purchase. The only characters showing are a couple I made during lught dabbles in POE1 (which I never got on with).

I then linked my twitch, and Steam accounts (wanting the drops via twitch, and also because I was thinking of purchasing via steam as well so I could use both pc and console to play, depending where I am (I'm disabled and spend a lot of time in hospital, where my xbox isn't allowed, but my laptop is). I was then prompted to register an account on POE2 and merge with my xbox account. A warning flashed, BUT AT NO POINT DID IT SAY THAT I WOULD LOSE ALL PROGRESS ON MY XBOX, so I just clicked ok.

Now my xbox poe2 character no longer exists. Over 50 hours of play... lost.

I don't even have the stash tabs I bought with the 300 points in the EA pack on xbox.

So that's 30 quid down the f*****g drain

No other game I have ever played has had this problem merging accounts on different platforms under one roof. Ever.

You wanna know the worst thing? I was actually about to pony up another 50 quid to get more stuff from the store, because I've been so pleased with the game. It's the best DIabloesque RPG I've ever played, and I have *literally* played them all. I will never spend another quid on GGG ever again.*

The funnies thing?.IT WAS THIS ACCOUNT I WAS USING ON XBOX!

EDIT: I should have added "unless this is sorted". I get this is early access, but having unclear and ambiguous wording on the site, a messy and complex process that doesn't seem to work; people's accounts and progress getting lost, etc., they really needed to delay the EA launch until the basic account infrastructure was 100% rock solid, tested, idiot proofed and better conveyed to users. It taints the brand somewhat and is to the detriment of the overall UX. Which is a shame, because the game is superb. But I'm not risking spending money on a game only to see it go missing, and I'm sure as hell not redoing over 50 hours of progress. As for the 30 or so hours lore spent learning all the core terminology, lore, mechanics, skill tree, endgame, etc - I'm glad I know it all, but it's ruined my appetite to invest any more time and resources into it. Which is a shame because.I was literally a day or two away from developing community tools, written and video tutorials, an online website and resource hub, etc. Both for personal use, and for newcomers (as the current stuff out there is generally very good, but it's getting lost in a larger amount of low-effort streaming crap, toxicity, and toxic bandwagon jumpers like Asmongold and other parts of the darker side of the alt-right gaming community flooding media with their drivel and culture wars. But that's another topic altogether.
