Dear Herbalist, is this build still strong/viable after nerfs? I don't want to give up on my Ice Stormweaver, but I also don't want to get bricked.


Clear is slower without comets, but archmage still puts out good dmaage.

link your passive tree and ill take a look. There shouldn't be a dip in dmg if you've got all the dmg while frozen nodes.

Frost variant just doesnt proc cast on freeze at all for me compared to lightning + The Three Dragons Helmet. With lightning + mana tempest I absolutely obliterate all act 2 cruel bossed and trash mobs so far. Also cast on frezee with this setup procs all the time, like every pack.

Notable items: The three dragons, Lifespring, focus + 1 spells, amulet +2 spells (total of +6 all spells)

I'm not specced to MoM yet because I dont feel like I need it. I feel pretty tanky already and with 260 mana regen without MoM I can comfortably use mana tempest.

Im using this now paired with the freeze from Three Dragons and absolutley shredding... with mana tempest up, which is constant due to regen and 1600 mana pool, the screen just disappears. 549 mana regen. Constant comet procs.

Insanity. Highly recommend.

build exactly yours. with CoF and Arch. yes, I have ignore resistances on freez, but if i didn't kill for freez = I have no dmg and go dancing. shock looks more consistent and have more burst. for cc I have shock-stun gloves.

why is your feeling that cold have more dmg? hm

I'm glad it is working for you. I just finished campaign with it and it deleted Doryani in couple of seconds lol.

for ascendancy do you first go 2 arcane surge nodes and then 2 shock nodes for all damage from hits contributes to shock chance?

Also tell me your plans going forward :D, keep us updated on skill tree.

I am actually curious on which level the lightning to ice conversion takes place. If my tree has nodes that increase lightning penetration or shock related values, they should be rendered useless once I wear the brotherhood ring, correct? Lightning damage, however, should still work, as it is converted to cold damage, or am I wrong here?
What am I missing here, call of the brotherhood seems to happen first with all calcs, and then archmage adds on lightning after the cold calcs.
