Honor mechanic makes me hate path of exile 2 already.

I don't necessarily hate the honor mechanic (on paper), but as it stands right now, the game is super laggy. Like, literally every 2 seconds I lag for 2-4s. Sometimes it triggers the "pause", sometimes not. But this is making it incredibly difficult to successfully complete the Trials, from losing Honor because of the lag.

Edit: My experience with it so far has been on sorc (range). After reading through all the posts here, it seems the biggest issue is with melee classes/builds. Yeah.. I can definitely see honor being a much bigger issue for them, even without lag shenanigans :(

Old Trails are just a matter of time.

But this is a pure pain in the ass as melee :(.

I get gear and spec passives to TAKE HITS! And here I am suposed to take sero hits. GG with all my close combat skills :(.

PLEASE ... if you don't want the old Trails invent a new mechanic. But remove this nonsens where you want range or minions.
Honor could be fun, in theory. An increased focus on avoiding damage can be fun, but it affects melee builds disproportionately. As a Monk, I managed to make it to the boss but only had enough honor to take two hits. It didn't work out. I'm not confident I'd have survived the fight with honor maxed going into it. And by that point I had tried multiple runs and the amount of time I had spent only to fail was extremely demotivating. So, in practice, honor is just bad. It either needs to be significantly rebalanced or removed entirely. I have zero interest in getting good at this particular mechanic as it is currently implemented.

I suggest changing it so that at the end of a run, you get extra rewards depending on how much honor you have remaining. If it ever falls to zero, you lose all those extra rewards but still can complete the run for base rewards (in this case the base reward should include the ascendency).

strong disagree lab was sure a bit monotonous but basically any build could do it, im a caster rn in poe2 so had no trouble with trial but i see alot of melee people complaining so this is much worse imo

Absolutely garbage mechanic. I've tried to get ascendancy twice now, I have zero problems getting through all the rooms, no problem with the damage the boss does, but I just have to start over because this stupid shit called honor runs out. I didn't come into the game to do the no hit challenge speedrun category. I make a build that can take damage and I can take it, but because of this honor mechanic it just becomes useless. I failed ascendancy twice and just closed the game.
+1 to removing Sanctum. Was one of the worst league mechanics, now you gate character progression in your new game around this recycled mechanic no one enjoys?
Why oh why did you choose this league mechanic for the trial system..... This might be worse than time gated content. Most frustrating melee mechanic for a casual player. Having to wait until I'm way over leveled for it is just boring.
Yeah the game is awesome but that honour system makes me wanna quit the last two Trials. Game allready hard and this with melee class is not funny. sadge
Trials suck and make an otherwise great game feel bad.
