I looked at event viewer, and saw error codes indicating a memory leak. Checked my min/max swap file size and saw it was set to 4gb for some reason. Properly adjusted it for a 16gb installed ram setup and the issues largely went away since then. Just a thought. Event viewer shows many things.
hehe, ahhh, yea, i did that the first crash. in october, it seems to help, but no.
system ram is rarely above 40% used too. its not a poe mem leak if there is one, i did for a time with some of the logs feel like it might have been a HVCI related leak but /shrug. the threaded optimizations being off has been seemingly the most effective change iv'e made, today i switched it back to enabled and froze first load, while its off it might, a very big might freeze, and only if i messed around alot in grphics settings alot. its jsut weird, 30+ years of playing games and using software, its up there as one of the most odd crashes ive had
Interestingly, I've updated my situation. MS forced me to update to the Jan 14 24H2 (side note: There is a version on insider that fixes a bunch of issues I hear).
Been gaming since Telarena myself. Never came across this issue, or the need of an entire community to do all of the diagnostics for the company. Looking through 460 pages, just about everything was checked and tested by us. Hard to believe that none of this went through QC before this release. It seems pretty obvious to me.

This level of entitlement is getting a tad tedious in these threads now, I've hard crashed a number of times to the point I've stopped playing the game yet understand that this isnt an easy fix as well as understand that early access runs a significant risk of bad interactions between software as that is part and parcel of early access. This isnt a single crash is it, multiple different people are experiencing multiple different crashes and you can see that just scrolling a couple of pages in this thread but you expect GGG to pluck out a needle in a haystack and focus specifically on your crash but not only that the fact your getting annoyed that GGG are fixing some crashes just not yours at this moment time circles back to the start of this paragraph.

There's a massive difference between desktop crashes and full PC lockups... the two 400+ page threads discuss the latter... the desktop crashes are less dangerous towards expensive PC components because you can STILL close the application and restart.
Both are issues, but saying that GGG is 'addressing' this issue is laughable. The PC hard lockup (the one they conveniently blame 24H2 on) has not been addressed WHATSOEVER.
Fixing 'instance crashes' or 'checkpoint crashes' is irrelevant here. The ONLY thing they've done with respect to hard PC lockups is telling users to initialize some command in-game so logs can be sent to them... which, again, if you're not comprehending the situation close enough is asinine because GGG is asking people to BRICK their PCs to fix a problem that ONLY affects THEIR game. Mind you, this issue has been happening since day 1 of EA, and it took them 2 months to... enable log collecting? It means they have no idea what they're doing, and have no plan to fix or address it. Look no further than their 'interview' with popular streamer toadies where it was not discussed at all.
Does that make sense? I'm fully expecting you to come back and build a strawman argument to defend GGG on this PC-destroying bug.

This issue has been happening since day 1 of EA for POE2.
But there is the same crash happening in POE1 for the whole 2024 and there was a thread of people 2-Weeks before poe2 ea release predicting their poe1 pc lockup will persist in poe2 ea. They were correct.

Idd same... and i uninstalled it 2 days ago because it fucked with my mind every time i saw my shortcut on my desktop.
Meanwhile played through Stalker 2 and the new D4 season, for over 60 hours total, without an issue on max details on the same system with the same latest win updates and drivers and no third party tool to park my cores.
Crazy huh.....

How is it possible for a Company to be so slow on bringing a Solution to fix this still persisting problem, this should be priority no 1.
I wont play this garbage until i can download this game and press play without any workaround solution.
It blows my mind that we are waiting since the release of EA without a patch that fixes this issue.
Its insane!

Oh, I was referring to online games. First games were on a TRS-80, and first computer was an IBM PC-XT...4.77mhz cpu, and DRdos! Wonder what happened to DRdos after Compuserve bought it? Then again, whatever happened to Compuserve? Did they eventually become GGG? LOL! I even briefly had a Wang computer that used the 8" floppy disks.
