" Lol Settlers is dead since 2 months already and Necro/Settlers was dead on arrival. Has nothing to do with PoE2 |

I guess i'll wait for PoE1 new season, this game is not for me...

It's awful - way too hard and slow. Feels like they are sacrificing their core audience for some imagined new crowd

" +1 "Path of Exile's engine is currently modern, lean and fast." - Chris Wilson, September 19th, 2019

Tried warrior melee as my first toon and turned out to be a shitshow. Second toon as necro witch seemed better but performance fell off in act 2. It's probably the gear and support gems I'm lacking but loot is awful (worse than Kalandra league). I hate the new gem system because you can't buy support gems and they are so rare. Bossing is like spamming a set of 2-3 skills over and over for a shit load of time. Overtuned? 100%. If you play in a party of 3-6, bossing is way easier since boss gets staggered every 3 seconds and you get less aggro (still not fun because it's just spamming skills). Click to move and dodge rolls feel clunky. Haven't tried WASD but it sounds better from what I'm reading.
It's like Last Epoch with much better graphics but 0.5x game speed and 10 times difficulty. In my opinion, this doesn't come close to modeling Diablo 2; it's a third person soul-like and if I want to play a soul-like game, I'd play Elden Ring. Also, I thought they took extra 3 weeks to make sure MTXs transfer properly to PoE 2. 90% of my MTX cannot be used yet. Update after 40 hours: Gave it another try after watching ZiggyD's advice on how to approach the game. It's much smoother and I do like it. Very different from PoE1 and I'd still like PoE1 to continue to develop as I switch between two distinct games. MTX still not available though. Last edited by joonpa#0611 on Dec 8, 2024, 9:50:29 PM

Warrior gameplay made me log out at the start. Came back the next day and tried again and got the feel for how the game actually wants you to play. Playing EQ with less duration support and fist of war + shockwave totem + frost bomb. It is...ok...but keyboard and mouse doesn't feel good when you're forced to dodge roll to avoid attacks all the time. I'm gonna give it ~5 hours and if it still doesn't feel good to play I will probably go out and buy a controller.
If you like how the gameplay feels the game will be a 100/10 for you. |

my first impression after one session playing hardcore still in a1:
-too sluggish (playin warrior) -rude with the chaos damage in a1 (i dont like purple flowers w/ 0% chaos res) -doesnt make me feel smart like poe1 does (not as many options/choices) -all my mtxes say "not available in this version" when i was told my poe1 purchases would carry over. and i'm also missing some special tabs. (are there no cards in this version? bummer.) -kinda feels like it was designed with softcore in mind; a bit hardcore unfriendly compared to poe1 *it's interesting to try something new for now but it feels just a bit too far from poe1 in general, imo. if you love poe1 it doesnt really mean you'll love poe2. there's gonna be some adapting to go through. *too many classes/skills missing but i'll just put that on the "EA" thing. **edit: performance wise it gets slightly worse overtime. i was surprised by the great smoothness at the beginning but after a few hours it feels less smooth and i gotta relaunch game to get it back. sometimes i can feel the "mini hiccup" when it's loading up a voiceline. i can predict when a new voiceline is coming just from that mini hiccup lol Last edited by teksuoPOE#2987 on Dec 7, 2024, 12:34:00 PM
