Glad to see others playing ED/contagion! Any input as to which venom draught to pick in a3? Feel like I should go with the mana regen but I'm hesitating pulling the trigger on it. (Witch/Infernalist)

Got to the maps, finally.
DPS is not great but it was enough to kill lava guy on level in both normal and cruel difficulties. Still running act2 wand, I'm on ssf and was not able to get anything better than +2 chaos lvl, hope that DPS will improve with gear. Surviavability is very good. My setup: Chronomancer - first slow, then recoup. Passives - went for double curse, curse efficiency, recoup and chaos nodes. Also, went for mana recoup and got 24% damage from mana nodes. Overall 95% life recoup for phyz/ele 80 for chaos. 38% mana recoup (got 15 from gear) 3% es recoup, all on 3s. Can tank most of the monsters forever. With hinder/temp chains/ascendancy slow and blink dodging one-shot mechanics is easy. For links: ED: swift affliction -> persistence -> chaos mastery -> chain/drain ailments (swap for clear/boss) Contagion: magnified effect -> unleash -> hinder Dark effigy: withering touch -> arcane tempo -> envenom Despair: decaying hex / focused curse / heightened curse Blasphemy: temporal chains -> Ritualistic curse -> Herbalism Blink: Clarity -> Ingenuity Herbalism is not important, but got a good spirit roll on armor, and it nice to have to heal when burst damage started before recoup caught up. Current gear: mostly life/res/armor. Life flask: instance use / reduced charge use. Mana flask: increased recovery / autocharge. Dark effigy is extremely important, it more than doubles damage, so I drop it even during clear. It's a bit clunky as without totem skills its survivability is low, but damage increase is worse it. Despair mostly for bosses/rares, it's too mana inefficient. For bosses I usually don't use contagion as its dps is low and mana is an issue, autocharging mana flask helps a lot. Hope it will help somebody and any tips for improvement are welcome. Won't have a lot of time to play during the week, but will lurk forums, so can answer questions if any. I got a +3 chaos staff with 70 spell damage. Still only doing 300 dot damage lol. Really need to get dark effigy online

What did everyone use for viper napuatzi in act 3? I'm getting to the point where chaos damage just isn't doing enough.

you are correct, I realized that after I posted since it says ailment and not damage over time like swift affliction.

" Despair with curse efficiency nodes gives over 50% -res on bosses. Didn't have an encounter yet, where it was not enough to put it in negative range. Chaos resistance monsters are slower than others, but only 20-30% slower, not a big deal. On any boss, I'm trying to keep 100% uptime of despair, 70 wither from dark effigy and ed, it is enough to make fights reasonably fast. Not shaper-per-second fast, but not 10-minute long slogs either.
