POE 2 - Only one attempt for a node in the atlas?

Is this analogous to only having one try at the map on the atlas in POE 1 and if you die you can't ever try that map again?

Hopefully there is a way to reset them.

You just have to find another way. You cant do that node but that map propably pops up eventually when you go another way. Atlas is basically un-ending. So unles every area is randomly generated that map will show up again.

Disconnect and log back, choosing "Return to checkpoint" option.

I don't like the fact that there's an option existing and that is some sort of abuse but yeah. I'd prefer either have no option to reset map at all or have an option to do such thing more... natural(?) way.

Unless I'm misremembering, in one of the recent interviews GGG stated there aren't checkpoints in maps. You DC / log out, you fail that map.

And yea OP, it's one try per map. The atlas is infinite so when you, like me and everyone else, end up failing a map, we just move on. AFAIK there is a way to completely reset your atlas if you brick it early.

I'm pretty sure this was stated in the last interview with Zizaran that you have an option to logout which I agree is kinda disappointing if true.

Well, yes you can pause and just hit logout, it's the same as the logout macro poe1 has had for years. What I was saying is if you do this, you lose the map and you can't run it again. And if you're against a boss (past the campaign) you lose that boss fight and have to find them again on the atlas
This is something I think they are going to need to adjust. There is no such things as infinite paths. People will be bricking their Atlas completely at points in the end game where it will be very painful to reset, and they will be rightfully pissed.

From my understanding the reset shouldn't be that bad, it's not like PoE1 where you progress from T1 to T17 maps, instead each map node you can choose the waystone or whatever the map equivalent name was so you can run T15 waystones from the very first map location if you have them.
If I understood how that functions correctly.

If you can complete several T1 maps without dying - paths number will increase exponentially and the chance of breaking the atlas completely will tend to zero. If you can't complete several T1 maps without dying - wtf then, fix your resistances idk

It's not possible to say anything that we haven't played yet, but what this looks like to me is the monoliths of Last Epoch and everyone knows very well how this game is a terrible flop, it hasn't had 1k players on it for a long time, it died in 3 months.
I HOPE PoE doesn't fall into the same trap.
