One Key giveaway - PoE 1 Stories

It might be a cliché but my most meaningful experience playing POE1 was the support I had received from the community ingame. Without that I believe my first league(affliction) would have not been as amazing as it was. Since then I put hundreds of hours into the game.

My most funny situation was getting checked by the Hall of Grandmasters map which was pretty painful considering I was playing SRS guardian. Once I offered the map for free in general chat people started laughing saying they had the exact same experience when they had started the game. That made me feel better considering the casualties I suffered from losing my AG 3 times in a row (my bad......)

I really love those stories! Makes me feel nostalgia - i won´t quit PoE 1 because of 2...i think...but it feels kind of a goodbye with a smile to "old times" :D

i had been playing for a while when that one patch was introduced that made act 1 much harder. suffice to say i was never particularly good and i wasn't into watching streamers either. i mostly just followed some build guide.

so when i got to the rhoas, i was in for a surprise. after dying a bunch of times, eventually i realized something. the rhoas charge in a straight line. so rather than running at the quest item, i circled around it. in a miraculous way i now started dodging all the rhoa charges without even trying to dodge them. just by virtue of running in a spirally way.

that realization kinda made me wonder what else the devs had put into the game to intuitively introduce the player to the game mechanics and useful behavior to survive in this unforgiving world

One of my most meaningful moments in PoE was when I realized I was overcomplicating my farming strategy. I’d spent days trying convoluted setups to target-farm uniques, only to end up broke and frustrated. Finally, I went back to basics straightforward mapping with a loot filter—and within hours, I dropped the item I’d been chasing all along.

Havent been playing since a while now, back for POE2.
My memorable moment is probably my first ever playthrough. I died to everything that could kill literally. Reflect pack? check, getting frozen and dying? check, having no escape paths and getting clovered by mobs? check, that miniboss in the sewers? check....

Whats memorable is learning from each mistake and restarting HC each time. Never hit packs before reading their mods, always have an unfreeze flask, always have a movement skill, etc etc. I always liked this about POE.

Im hoping my first playthrough of POE2 will be the same. I avoided watching streamers and only watched official GGG streams to not get spoiled. Im basically going blind. Well if you give me that key that is.

The most meaningful to me in PoE is player interaction. I mean it's fun when you're trading some items and suddenly find yourself and the person who just showed up talking for some time about builds, and tactics and such.
In the current league guy rly wanted some rare item from me, but had no currency and was trying to negotiate. We ended up revamping his build and gave him direction towards upgrades which left me with no sale, but informed and motivated friend :)

Started playing this game way back in 2012, most historic and most funny moment for me is i belive the very first character i ever created which finished in docks where it couldnt progress any more , An EK char that was glass canon and using summon skelys as meat shield to progress gues the bosses cyclone just bypases everything and steam rolls me .
That was the stupidest/funniest moment in poe where it hooked me into this exceptional game and ive been playing ever since

dont really need a key but a friens does if you happen to find more spares. Or he waits for full release or buys a pack.
Still gonna tell my story because im bored.
Vaal league. never seen a 6-link in my life.
Spammed few jewelers just for fun and got nice 6s early in the game. I put like 3 fusings in to it and get a 6L.
Craft that with nice stats.
Then a vaal orb drops.
"I wonder what this will do"
Bricked that shit.
Was so pissed and depressed for beign stupid.
Took me a league or two propably to even buy a nice 6L again. Or recover from that.
Fun times.

Don't need the key, just wanted to share a fond memory from POE1 open beta times in 2013.

I remember groups being a more common/popular playstyle, especially in maps. I will always remember the cells map where group members would always be typing in caps to not open the door of the boss in cells map. At that time it was the fire breathing dog creature from the docks and every time I was in that map in a group, someone would always open the door and we would all get insta-killed. The freak-outs were hilarious.
