One Key giveaway - PoE 1 Stories

Hi there,

i have a spare key left. Tomorrow, in about 24 hours, i will pick one of you.

But i have 2 (small) requirements, becaue i want to give the key to someone who actually plays PoE.

Requirement one: Have at least 2-3 - visible - characters above level 80.

Requirement 2: A short story/anecdote about your most meaningful, funny or enraging situation in PoE!

I played a bunch of leagues. when I finally felt like I can take on Hardcore. I went in and died to Hillock. Got put in my place lol

Since playing Poe until now, I have never picked up a truly valuable item, I always have to exchange the item with a divine or chaos orb.
One day I fought "Sirus, Awakener of Worlds" and I only had one gate left, I was very careful not to die and I killed him, he dropped Awakened Multistrike Support just then I also died from the black fire under his feet.
I was really really angry about that and regretted building the character in the glass canon style. From then on I always stayed away from glass canon builds and focused more on layer def

I was playing one of those leagues where you get random modifiers for the map. At Twilight Strand, the random gave me a lot of tormented spirits. Some of them possessed Hillock. He killed me several times and then I had a brilliant idea: I needed to lure him to the respawn point to save my time. While I led him to the start of location, he caught a few more spirits. Then he got too overpowered and one-shoted me always at the ressurection point before I even hit him. I was forced to create a new character.

There's not much to say about my personal funny moments, but gotta say that I tend to laugh a lot on the crazy things some cool people say on globals. One of such comments that i introduced into my "mainstream" is a saying "where there's a golden door, there must be a wisdom scroll".

for me the same story from the beginning: a positive league where I have fun; next league rage quit violent because I get the starter build wrong and I go crazy; league again after that a mageblood comes out at random and after 1 month I quit because I have nothing that stimulates me anymore. I hope in poe 2 to find a game where I can go slower where I don't need to take it as a second job to be able to close the challenges.

Not sure if this counts as funny, but way back 2017 maybe abyss or harbinger league. Me playing blind. Very noob, no pob, no filter, just doing yellow maps. mirror dropped, im so excited coz i can dupe my rare ring.. plot twist is, the ring got a good stats but it was a base raw stats. i dont even know how to craft that time, i was so happy duping it but league later after properly learning the game. I realized how i wasted the effin mirror lol.. never again looted a raw mirror since then.

My most enraging moment was when i realised that i miss a campaign passive point after reaching level 100 :D

My most fun moments were in settlers and quite a lot of em (hinkekora lock drops, mirror shards). The whole league was fun!

After all these years It is hard to find one single situation that truly stands out. You get the scammers trying to give you 10 chaos orb instead of 100div, you get deaths at the boss after you kill him...

This league I've sent my mageblood in to void at corruption chamber, but it did not manage to anger me, and I've bought 2 more for friends anyway. I even got video of it:


But there is actually one thing that is pretty unique about me: Back when PVP hideout was thought to be impossible to get, I became 1. pvp player in the whole world. I made 5 characters and got 1. place 2. place 3. place 4. place and 5. place in the seasonal pvp ladder.
It took days to find single fight at high elo. I'd que even during my sleep and then run to my computer when someone to fight was found.
This is ofcourse because pvp is pretty dead in this game, that also made it not so hard to achieve.

AND It still was not good enough to get the PVP hideout (now everyone has the hideout because it is not from pvp anymore)
