i want to reassure new players that for the campaign, you should be able to use any build to do it as long as you re just not picking stuff at random.
the discussion is more about maps since poe 1 is a game of scarcity and planniing. you cant just waste the few currency that you get. so much so that there is a website where you can emulate crafting :) because everything is so scarce.
so if you just want to do campaign shouldnt be any problem

i hoipe everyone ignores this thread and tries to make their own build, enjoys learning and getting as far as they can like we all did day 1 in 2013 open beta.
You have never followed a build guide? Are you sure?
All this gear combinations on your chars, auras, the timeless jewel placement, etc... you come to this by yourself?
Not a bad job, really. Surprised how little deviation it has from the optimal.

Even to halfway of maps you do not need super optimization. But that optimization level will NOT exist in the first few hours, or even days of the game.

people do not even know how the skills WORK! They have no idea how much single target DPS you need vs how much area damage you need vs crowd control. You cannto be optimal without knowing that in POE 2.

My take is to make a very clumsy first build to test as many skills as possible. End act 3. Then restart with my knowledge and make a serious build.
