I've never played SC in my 10 years of PoE1 and no chance of changing that for PoE2

I think starting PoE2 in hardcore is pure, glorious madness, but I'll be sticking to normcore. Have fun, though! I look forward to all the RIP clips.

i dont even think hardcore should be enabled until a few patches in .
its probably simply impossible not to die at all currently . |

I'm a HC player but i'll be playing regular game initially, too much to learn the first time around all HC does is limit you and make everything take ages.
Plus i'm interested in the 1 portal or brick for mapping which seems like a nice halfway house anyway. |

Best fun you can have is play hardcore blind from start!
There is nothing better than ending the campaign as a hardcore player, knowing nothing about any monster, zone or boss! Thats a feeling you wont ever be able to replicate later. I recommend every hc player to do this, even if you die 45 times. At least for the campaign, thats totally worth it in these kind of games. Its a unique opportunity you have only when a game like this is released, once in a decade chance. I did it in Diablo 3, did it in PoE 1. No regrets. After many years playing the games, those early hardcore moments are still very deep in my heart. Those feelings can not be replaced by anything. And, sadly, they can only be repeat in moments like these releases. Don't lose on the unique opportunity to experiment this. IGN: Gonorreitor

Even if it kills me, I'll be playing HC from the start ;)
You can learn a boss fight by not dying. I'm not going to cheese the bosses by learning their mechanics before fighting! I don't care if its unbalanced and I die to a spider that accidentally did 100x the damage its meant to, I played HC in the POE1 closed beta blind, and it was the most fun I ever had. |
