POE2 Early Access for PC - Is Steam Required?
I have loved that POE allows you to download, install, and run the game without the irritating requirement of steam. I would love to buy early access to POE2. However, I have been unable to confirm that I will be able to play it yet, as I refuse to install steam for any game.
Is anyone able to confirm whether Early Access requires steam? Or if you can play on PC without it? thanks Last bumped on Nov 27, 2024, 3:29:22 AM

No, Steam is not required. POE2 will also be playable via a standalone PC client and Epic Games Store.

" The problem is the key they sent says "Steam Key" and there is an Epic one that is not available. We really need confirmation on whether we should claim the steam key even if we use the standalone client. |

Thanks for the info. One (hopefully) final clarification requested.
The standalone PC client, is completely standalone, correct? In other words, the Epic Games store option is separate? Just want to make sure before buying it. thanks again. |

I need to know this. I need to buy it from Steam, in Argentina the price is half than the ggg shop. So y want to buy in steam and use it with this account.

" The steam key is just to give access to download through steam. it should even say that on the key page. if your account has access to the EA then you are good to use the standalone. |

This means 1 key is good for all platforms right? For the one account. I feel kinda bad for claiming key and seeing it on the Steam game list, I've always used the stand alone client.

Bump, same question.
Standalone client-only player here wondering if EA will only be through Steam and/or Epic, and not via the standalone client. |
|
Bumping for the same. Stand alone client user, email and message say Steam key, and I don't use steam.

I got access this morning, the only redeemable one was Steam. Unsure if this is because I only play the game on steam but I didn't see a standalone redeemable option.
