Can you swap your Ascendancy in Poe 2?

Hey, so i'm curious and want to know if you can swap your Ascendancy like in PoE 1?
Because i will play every class and every ascendancy to try out everything. And it would be very painful to go so many through the campaign again just to get to the other Ascendancy Classes.

those who hosted pod cast didnt ask him why they just said "mhmm okay" but jonathan said they are open to feedback about this so maybe in the future they will change it

Said they want it locked.So more players now will be without one for a bit until someone figures out which one is better and they will just go with that one,since you can't test it your self

that is super lame. its peoples first playthrough, let them experiment without having to do the campaign all over. i can already see this game is going to be so much more punishing than poe.

A pain as you described, is an understatement. I speculate over half of the players who get the game will quit after the first week tbh. It’s very complicated and confusing. Think dungeons and dragons where the game is mostly a spread sheet and you don’t fully understand the rules unless you’re speaking to the game master.

It looks really sad with the impossibility of changing Ascendancy. At first I played with fire spells on Sorceress, and in my opinion it was a pretty good stable build that worked both on trash and bosses. I took Chronomancer, because the casting speed of spells procs periodically. But in Act 3 I realized that lightning now looks much more interesting and powerful, but somehow does not really match my Ascendancy. It turns out that I have to spend the same amount of time to level up a new hero of the same class, in order to choose Stormweaver and enjoy the game. Sounds like something from old MMORPGs of the early 2000s (hello Ragnarok).

In general, the decision to prohibit changing Ascendancy in poe2 - greatly spoils the feeling of the game, because in order to try something new, you need to spend an incomparable amount of time for it.

Game isn't fully released yet. You aren't able to change Ascendancy because we are in early stages of EA. I am fairly certain they said it will be upcoming feature.

Also to whoever said the poor Chronomancer/Stormweaver example: Even if you could swap ascendacies you would meet same problem between different classes. So regardless of whetever you can change ascendancy or not, PoE2 will feel like MMORPG in early 2000s for you.
