Poe2 Ascendancy

I know sadly it seems we won’t get the Necromancer back or a dedicated minion ascendancy but with everything going on with other ARPG’s currently it would be absolutely amazing if one of the Templar Ascendancies is a Paladin. IMO that would be such a hilarious statement it’s hard to put it into words how awesome it would be. Been hoping for Paladin since I first played PoE. With a few adjustments to current skills there’s enough to support it in PoE2. I also hoped for a melee minion/chaos Shadowknight type but the Paly is just too iconic.

paladin idea will be cool, i have always regret to have nothing that scream paladin in poe.
about the necromancer i feel it's something totally strange... if i want to play a minion build, if the ascendancy don't bring me anything for this type of gameplay, why choose any ascendancy at all?

infernalis is about using fire damage and demon power, ok, but you will need a very high hp regen for use it
bloodmage is about use your blood as source for get more power, nice, but if you don't deal enough damage you will die by yourself...

i don't need either of them.... minion build are by default fragile and have nothing outside minion. why i will go take ascendancy that will cripple me more for get power that i will never use since all my power is about minion.

other ascendancy empower a side of them class, why witch can't empower her minion gameplay? just saying.

all in all i understand where they are coming from... but if they don't want to have necromancer as the "go to" for the minion build, why not simply add more different minion, like animal or spirit or soldier even... and make a few more ascendancy around this idea... like a druid that will call animal at his side for fight along? or a mercenary that will have his band of soldier that will fight alongside him.... i dunno, the trouble with poe ascendancy is not necromancer is the lack of diversity for minion and pet in the game... you don't want to have necromancer as main pet build, add more choice!!!
GGG is rather inconsisten with their ideas.
One one hand they say " we don't want players to flock to one class for minion gameplay"......on the other "you want a class specialized on flasks? Say no more......."

At this point, I expect the remaining classes to be a mixed bag of good and bad ideas.
Templar is like a holy knight type of guy. Maybe there will be some paladin flavour for him at release.

They may not admit it, but I have a feeling that they hate the minion as main source of damage playstyle.
From the 2 ascendancies we have available and the confirmation that Necro won't be the 3rd, it's clear that they want to push minions in a support role.
The ascendancies are all about the Witch and what she can do herself, while the minions are there as support. Might be wrong, but that's how it feels like....

For all we know, the 3rd Ascendancy might not be called necro, but could still be about supporting minions. It just doesnt make sense that they focused on their new minion system, only for it to be tossed aside as a support role. Maybe all three ascendancy's have some sort of minion focus?

Is there a leak somewhere that i missed by the way?

That doesn't seem to bad to be honest. Different ascendancies to focus on different minion types.

Want a fire golem type build, or SrS? Infernalist. Skeleton/spectre zerg? whatever the 3rd one will be. Bloodmage maybe for zombies?

Until I see minion options for Bloodmage I can't really form a proper opinion.

So far, I don't like the lack of minion focus. Minios seem to be put in the oassanger seat and support you......which is not bad, but disappointing.
a lot of thing we did learn recently feel weird, i explain myself:
- the fact that a support gem can't be used on multiple skill, what about minion?
- the fact that spirit is used for aura and minion, forcing us to choice between one and another.
- the fact that we don't have an ascendency that support minion... wth
- the fact that they have said that spin to win will come back, be dependant of one skill is ok, but be dependant of the minion is bad

and i feel something is not right, maybe they have trouble to balance it and feel that is a more passive role, when they clearly want us to be more active... but that the thing, as summoner/necromancer you are extremely active, we will probably have no aura, no attack skill, no defense skill, we will need to move all the time for avoid any one shoot mechanic, it's not passive, yes the damage is made by the minion, but we still need to be cautious.

i hope they will come out and explain themself and be more clear about this, because for me it's a big letdown in comparaison of all the rest.

i know that the early access will bring a lot of change with feedback, but it will be nice to have a more clear and transparent discution about what is the goal behind the mechanic of the minion skill. we need to know where they stand and why they do choose this. maybe with more info it will become clearer, but soo far, for me the witch is a massive letdown, i'm happy that the witch have more different and meaningfull ascendancy, but at the same time, why only the witch have downside for each ascendancy. infernis will have a skill that will transform mana into flame magic that will deal damage to yourself if you are too greedy, and blood mage litterally drain his hp for fight....why? do the monk, warrior, ranger, sorceress and mercenary have ascendancy with a downside that can potentially kill themself.

ascendancy is means to become stronger, to become more godlike and for me, the witch is simply becoming more suicidal with the ascendency with how they have show it.

maybe the example was not well chosen, maybe they have other branch in them ascendancy better... but i feel the witch was sell short, outside the demon form and hellhound honestly nothing in the ascendancy of the witch is making me want to play it.
