glad to see i'm not the only one. every time it happens i feel embarrassed lol
Of the "Self Pickup" Enjoyers here, do you guys not get RSI issues longterm?
Honest question.

PoE hurts my body when I play lots of it.
Dont know any other game that does the same to me. Given, no other game I play needs this form of clicking.

Auto Loot for most small stuff would be an amazing QoL for me.
(PoE 1: Anything below chaos orbs, Lower Tier scarabs, some other things)

Its also no market benefit gain for me as SSF Player.
Simple QoL and (longtime) injury prevention.

By the time you have "played lots of it" you have almost everything turned off in your loot filter and you aren't clicking a whole lot. You are mostly searching for the schwings.

If you're picking up currency that is worth less than 1c per item then that is what you should fix, your filter.

Also if you're still looting transmute"esque" currency after league start weekend you either a:arent played lots or b:learn to fix loot filter.

The game offers the solution to your problem already. If you haven't played d2 before go do solo p7 hell cows and see how much of an improvement poe ground loot is.

You either overlooked the fact I play SSF or how much I like to play, given the chance.
Of course I adjust my filters accordingly.
But even stupid Chaos und Scarabs add up over 2 months playing every day

And arguing how bad it is in other games is so low an argument it insane
"Look how bad people in the 3rd world have it, be thankful"
What a reason to accept everything no matter what.
Yeah and nothing will ever change either cause you have to be thankful or you will get reactions like this to a normal argument in a conversation.
i'm going with a hard no for this

Gold even currency sure that's ok

Items? fuck that noise...do you even realize how bad that would be? to pick up everything in radius then having to go to your inventory to dump the shit you don't want only for the game to pick it up as soon as you move again?

No...just no, a waste of item even developing methods to enable it.

One of the favorite moments in games like this is seeing something drop on the ground and picking it up—not having it automatically pick itself up, go straight to your stash, and sell itself like in mobile games. As many people here have said, that’s what a loot filter is for. If we’re talking about a new player, we assume they’re excited about every Alchemy Orb they find and pick it up with pride. And if you’re complaining about having to pick something up, it probably means it’s not valuable enough to you, so why even bother picking it up? Set up your loot filter properly, and suddenly, instead of bending down every 5 seconds to grab something, you’ve got maybe 10 items to pick up from the whole map at most.
Gold is a different matter, obviously, since it’s currency—not something to sell, doesn’t take up inventory space, and there’s no downside to it being automatically picked up. Plus, it drops in large quantities, which is clearly better than having 1,000 drop every 50 mobs—because if you miss one mob that happened to drop it, it would feel bad.

The problem is your argument is the snowball effect, which is what causes a lot of pause when you're offering a service to someone. This behavior is apparent in human behavior in almost every situation. Humans will never be happy with what they have. Keep in mind ggg has a finite amount of time to work on their development. If you just stand there and hold your hand out for things that are very trivial you're going to be let down constantly because they will be working on things that are actually important.

the biggest challenge in poe is to leave stuff on the ground, some even need item filters to pass the test which they probably use with a bad concious anyway.

don't be mad at you if you failed it, the majority does too.

Your argument can be applied to deny every other QoL ever implemented by GGG after the game launched. It is also extremely fallacious and disingenuous to be making such argument in a game where the hole point is to keep grinding for more.

It should at least be optional and let the players learn and deal with the consequences.

That is a lie. The vast majority of loot has no use after a certain point, that is why it is filtered out.
But they have denied an astonomical amount of qol that people have begged for. They have to be selective because of the forever hand held out for something "better". Think what you will about it GGG has been doing a pretty good job at deciding what qol will be good.

You are also making the same point in a different way. Challenge to leave stuff behind and calling it useless loot is the same thing. Realizing that picking up useless stuff being detrimental to your divines/hr is a challenge. But then again should divines/hr be the best way to adjust everything around? I don't think so.
