POE 2 Ultrawide Support

Will POE 2 support ultrawide resolutions (21:9 or even 32:9) and have the current widescreen settings for the UI ? . Thanks

The joke of "widescreen" support they added a while ago still pissed me off so much that I will not spend money on this game until the put in at least the minimum effort to support widescreen.

I vaguely remember that someone said in an interview no HDR and no widescreen, but that is from loooong ago, so hopefully they've gotten a bit less lazy.

Fun fact: I played PoE in closed beta and it supported 3 monitor setup with Nvidia 3D vision (The 3D glasses) ... and it looked damn nice.
Bump, i need to know that as well. Please give us that crucial information, in my case it's for 32:9.

Thanks
Another one thread...
In what way is this an issue? I can play on my 21:9 monitor in POE just fine. why do people think POE 2 won't support it? Or is there something i am missing?

technically i am 21.5:9 with resolution of 3440:1440, i did a quick check to make sure i wasn't crazy but still i haven't noticed any issues

The probem isn't 21:9. PoE has always supported that ratio. The problem is 32:9, which PoE removed support for due to "unfair advantages", as far as I know, due to arrow range and aggro range.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

in PoE 1 they limited the aspect to 21:9 to prevent extra server entity computation that very ultra-widescreen aspect ratios can cause. I believe this means it has black bars beyond the supported aspect, which as you might imagine looks pretty awful.

There is also the issue of UI positioning with ultrawide displays, so people are naturally interested in knowing if GGG are going to allow super ultrawide aspects in the sequel, and whether there's support for this in the hud elements etc.

Is it?

They've said a few times that POE1 and POE2 run on the same engine, and that some of those engine updates have already been released to POE1.... so you could boot up POE1 and try it out.

I think they said ultrawide (21:9) looks good... but i have not heard anything about super-ultra-wide.

In PoE1 currently, 21:9 is fine, 32:9 has black bars either side.

This was done because 32:9 allowed you to off screen bosses as their AI would only activate when you were within their range. 32:9 kept you outside the range when at the extreme edges of the arenas.

They might have changed this with PoE2, but probably not, if this enough to stop you playing the game, well that's your choice.
