Changes to Path of Exile's Account System

is your PC account run through steam? if it is, thats why you are having the problem. Steam and PS both use "Identifier Login" instead of username/password, its annoying, but its on both of them to fix the issue, its not something ggg can do anything about I dont think, unless they want to open it up where people can merge multiples of the same type of accounts (multiple steam, or multiple ps or so on) |

Instead of cool code for existing accounts like #0000 they added random numbers.

Do we need this discriminator in EVERY account? Sure there are some that use common names that need it but for the majority it's an unnecessary measure that makes everyone's account name look weird.

I absolutely hate everything about this change. I don't want random numbers after my account name. All this for a console merge that I don't care about as I'll never play poe on consoles. I'd have preferred the pc only players not be forced with a number and it only gave one if you linked a console account in.
Could have also let people that had conflicting names on the merge just change them based on who had it first. Out of all the ways that could have handled this random numbers feels so bad. |

" clearly it is not that they aren't able to merge the accounts, they did fine with the xbox accounts. and i don't think the account databases are that different between systems that it would be much harder to do it for play station. and we know GGG wants to do it, so the only thing that could stop them is sony saying no. don't be mad at GGG for sony saying no be mad at sony. " the problem they are running into right now is transferring old purchases between platforms, and that is not doable between Playstaytion and PC accounts, the account will be able to merge but you can not use an MTX that you purchased on playstation while playing on pc and vise versa. you will still be able to play and have cross progression, so you can play the same character on Playstation and on pc, but the MTX will not travel with you. that is how i understandt it. |

Modifying account names, esepcially with random numbers at the end, was a bad call and makes it look like Roblox in here. Wish I'd never spent money on this game now.

If i created a second account via steam by accident, essentially forgetting i had an account already through the ggg client, and i then purchase microtransactions on the second account whilst having microtransactions on the original account, can i have as a one time action these accounts merged?
