Is Act 1 Too Hard Now?

So I just started a new character in the Settlers event.
Act I is still not hard. Some of the stuff that was added by the event is... challenging, maybe hard if you don't know what to do and weren't lucky with drops.
But all the "native" Act I stuff is far from hard. It's not mindlessly easy, though and if you're just learning the game, well, it incentivizes learning fast. :o)

As vets know, you don't kill anything that takes more than 1 hit in Act1/2, you make a beeline straight to the end of act ;)

Edit: ;)

You are looking at it wrong. The difficulty comes from other things, not basic mobs. Getting stun-locked, shocked or ignited, chilled and chain-frozen is a very real threat because of how early you can encounter rares and packs of magic mobs that have extra Elemental Damage. Stun threshold is based on max HP and duration scales with enemy damage by how much damage you take, so does Freeze duration. It's no use to compare it from the view of someone who already knows what these do and how to play around them. Honestly, your anecdotal analysis is very warped.

It's mainly just mud flats. A new person who doesn't know how to avoid getting stun locked is gonna have a hard time. But other than that, there's really nothing super challenging about Act 1.

I personally disagree, because the next location has monsters that can freeze and kill you. And if they are magic or rare... :/ 5+ deaths.

I never got 0 deaths in 1-10. And I play every league since open beta (every league +-5 chars). But things got worse since Archnemesis and their modifiers... my friends hate that thing too and quit the game... and it doesn't matter that devs reworked Archnemesis when it's still in the game. For me it's cheap and bad mechanic and cuz this I hate PoE 1 more than Diablo 4. Because I can skip some bad mechanics in D4 with high dmg as Spiritborn, but I cannot skip magic and rare **** in end-game. Soo I duno how to reach Shaper after 10 years. My max is T10 white maps.

I hope that PoE 2 will be different.

did you put him in necro settlers for this? If so, you failed your friend, not the game.

All true. But we are all the same at the start of Act I. Nothing to counter these things except not getting hit - a very important thing to learn early on - or very lucky drops like boots with cannot be frozen and high fire resist items.

Considering that statement, if POE 2 makes you happy, itll be a total fail for the majority of the player base.

PoE 1 isn't easy game, most ppl cannot even reach end of A1 without help. I always should tell my friends which armor they got is better, because game isn't in our language...
PoE 2 is new start = no currency so different crafting, etc.

No
I've been playing since 2013 a few times a year I install and play this game. after changes in act 1-2 I've quit multiple leagues because act 1 experience is awful.

To be exact I now need a meta skill to kill the mobs in act 1 not only that meta skill keeps changing due to GGG and nerf everything policy. god forbid anyone try to summon zombies in act 1.
If I do not play meta skill I have mana issues on Brutus/Mervile/Spider in act 2/ and have to kite them for 5+ minutes. if I die I on Brutus have to run in a straight line for ~30 seconds with no mobs or anything engaging to do instead of respawning at boss room. How is that a good change...

mud flats enough was said already... wtf is that

there is a stupid difficulty curve in this game act 1/2 are the hardest content in the game except for maybe some uber bosses type content.
tier 16 maps with a build are mindless.

on top of that the first two acts are not difficult in a good way they are annoying and frustrating.
