The community is taking the delay really well. Surprisingly well.

Infinitely better than they handle nerfs, at least.

I've skimmed about 100 comments, and I don't think I saw a single one bad-mouthing GGG.

it was expected i guess.
Writing was on the wall, you had to have a full huff-tank of copium to not be at least slightly suspicious of a delay.

Anyone used to these things was waiting for the delay post rather than not expecting it
Because realistically it isn't that big of a deal. PoE 2 will be a behemoth, possibly genre defining - they absolutely can not afford to fumble launch.
Personally i don't give a damn about POE2. They can delay it for another decade as far as i am concerned. But i am probably an exception with that kind of thinking.
I mean i don't care one bit about poe2 and i already fully expected settlers to last into december.

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them

Well... Sure, there are some people that have taken time off work and stuff like that, and I understand if they are disappointed.

That said, every gamer that doesn't live under a rock, knows that a delay can only benefit them, and make the experience better when you actually get to play the game.

Personally, I am as hyped for PoE 2 as I am hyped for a fist hitting my face, so I don't really care. But if a deveoper feels like a delay is needed, a delay is of course the right thing to do.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I'm really sad, because it's the first time I took time off work because of any game launch or videogame related ever. It's only 2 days, but it hurts anyway.

On the other hand, like Draegnar said, it was expected when there were no news whatsoever recently. I personally expected news to come out last week and when that didn't happen I was already prepared for disappointment.

That said, the sadness will go away and come launch day it will be for the better, so... "Delay is for a while, suck is forever"
Had to be expected by most. And if anyone experienced the Diablo 3 launch, they will appreciate the caution being expercised.

What kinds of jobs do you guys have that you cant cancel requested time off work? Even the US military will let you cancel your plan, and they have to be one of the worst jobs for planning personal stuff.
