Will the currency exchange go core?
Hi,
Will the currency exchange go core? Why I want it
Spoiler
Ignoring the first 8 or so listings on the trade website has never been fun and although people like to shit on standard, that's where some people spend their time playing PoE. A few maps after the kid goes to bed and the dishes are done is how I enjoy PoE. Adding the currency exchange to that would just be outstanding.
We don't need gold, and you can limit it to 10 trades per hour, etc. I don't care. Or bring gold into the core game and give it the same rules. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game. Last bumped on Oct 16, 2024, 12:59:50 PM

i hope so.

Me too. I'm guessing the main motivation of gold is to encourage participating in the main game to reap the benefits of the exchange. That instead of playing path of hideout.

It will for sure however they might change it or upgrade it would be my guess.
Kingsmarch could go core for sure but it'll be a lot of work to properly balance it for the core game. However I think the vendors from kingsmarch should def go core no mater what. | |
If i were a betting man i would say yes.

Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” |

It has to because I really can't see myself going back to play without it.

I'm pretty sure that Mark and Jonathan have already said that the exchange is kinda the plan for how trade will work going forward in both PoE1 and PoE2. It was introduced as an "experiment" just in case it all went horribly wrong, but it's gone pretty well; I'm assuming that they'll not only be keeping it, but expanding it to allow exchange trading of things other than just currency.
Remember, remember the 6th of December...

I guess it depends on how much the directors of poe are in the 'instant trading is bad actually crowd.'
Personally I think the entire trade system needs to be automated. There is no reason I can really believe as to why we can't trade anything through an in game client. But like harvest they will probably make it significantly different and less useful. Remember GGG has argued since day1 that this kind of trade system devalues the game and are only testing this. Most players think kingsmarch is only fun because of faustus. Removing him would mages this league an easy 2/10 imo. |

I hope it does, it would also be interesting to see it fueled by the currency already in game (not "gold") scroll of wisdom counts for 1 gold, portal scroll 3 gold, transmutation orb 10 gold up and up through alchemy orbs, gold equivalence done by professional game developers. All of that currency can be purchased in game, and except for alteration orbs, tends to depreciate very quickly.

I sure hope so and I'm sure it will. I think other elements of Kings march will also, being one of the most popular and well received leagues to date.
It's great to be able to let your runners into maps that you cant, or feel rewarded for trash uniques that give fair gold on dusting. Shipping is also a great mechanic that pairs with farming/mining and although I'd love to see this port into core as well that's the part I'm not sure on but fingers (and everything else!) crossed it will in some form find it's way.
