I get the "point" is being hard and challenging, but HC is neither imo. It's just an unnecessary punishment barrier.

I feel like they should always have a SC version of the Gauntlet like this.
The campaign does feels really smooth and refreshing with the extra stuff but not everyone cares enough to play HC.
They could easily run a SC version without any rewards and draw in more players being interested to pick up the game again mid or end league, or whenever such Gauntlet happens. pretty much a win for both player side and GGG.

It was fun to watch.

But sadly, PoE burned down my gpu, so no jump in for me.

Event is net negative for GGG so I am not sure why are you saying that's win for them, lol.

It's not for everyone, but that's also kinda the appeal. I'd rather they do a different event for SC, but have it take place sometime before or after the Gauntlet so if you wanted to play both events you could

MY guess is most engagement with gauntlet is thru twitch and the competitive streamers. It's fun to challenge yourself with it but the gauntlet isn't intended for the vast majority of players.

Me much suck at hardcore haha. I dont want to spoil anything here but watching this stuff, give us a notable on the atlas tree for some of these pinacle boss variations.

This is exactly what I mean. Keep all the rewards and renown for the HC version, but at least let me experience it SC. Anything HC is an immediate "no" for me, and I can't be the only one.

Gauntlet being much harder is already enough of a limiter if we want the "appeal" like Art mentioned. The second people die to Hillock with all those maven balls and degen pools, they will peace out, even in SC.

I'd even go Ruthless SSF over anything HC....and I also can't really stand the idea of Ruthless.

The gauntlet is... Interesting.

Personally, I'm finished playing HC. I did it in D2 back when I had the time to do so. Now, I don't. So from a "playing perspective", I will never participate in a HC event. Would I win if i did? Of course not, I'm a pleb.

That leaves us with spectating.

But PoE, and especially a much harder version of PoE, is far too niche to make a good spectator sport out of it. A "sport" consisting of less than 10, closer to 5 "serious contenders" isn't much of a sport. So it's more a spectate of "how will players die" and not so much "who will win". And sure, that may be entertaining, but not really entertaining for me.

haha, i was not aware of that until yesterday. I have that other one now, lutbot, that is supposed to be better and i used it 5 times on Malachai^^ Made it out alive though. whooooo exciting(Zizarin voice xd)
