Will there be a PC non-steam client for PoE 2 like for PoE 1?

I allwayes prefared to use the non-steam client of PoE 1 for several reasons.

One of them is that I try to avoid tracking as much as posible. And yes, steam does track what you play, when you play, how long you play, your hardware and much more.

Another one is that (even if my PC has no probs with this) I still try to old-school have as view task/processes/background-junk active as posible :).

And some more reasons.

So will there be a PoE 2 non-steam Client for PC I can directly download from GGG?

Obviously yes, there will be a standalone.
Nothing foreshadows absense of a standalone client for PoE2.
At the very least EGS is still an option, in case you dislike steam specifically.
Out of all the platforms Steam is (in my eyes) still one of the better ones :).

I just so much prefare to have no 3.party stuff running at all.
I detest steam client
given that a bit less than half of their PC player base don't use steam i would think that they would offer a standalone client
Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

He who controls the pants controls the galaxy. - Rick & Morty S3E1
since steam used to get a 30% cut on all player's support done over steam, i guess that ggg really likes their own client.

the question is how long will poe be a pc game since nearly all tech got nerfed for the sake of console compatibility, so there is no advantage in playing it on pc anymore.

Wow I never thought i'd meet another like me, people hold steam in the highest of praise.

I can't argue it's functionality and place in global gaming, being a platform that enables game companies to launch to millions of it's users without having to develop their own client software.

It just never made sense to me, I want to launch the game I want to play, not open another client, get bombarded with ads, see all the other games I haven't played in a while, wait for a bunch of random updates to either the client or games I don't play anymore just to play the game I want to play.

Exactly!
I despise steam also so i wonder:

If Early Access will require steam?
Will EA be only via steam?

Will PoE2 be available via steam like Last Epoch? (i didnt play it because steam).

Never got the answer.
