T17 once again are ruining this league can GGG just discard t17 concept?
" The T17 aren't really my personal issue tbh. Can clear them easily on both my builds. I have a much bigger problem that they nuked heist, lab running, betrayal and now delve into worthless territory. These changes hurt the game much more. Heist is useless this league, can't pull any gold from it, gems have been removed. When you don't pull Farrul, Simplex, Helical or Alberon it is just a big waste of time. And I'm talking 400 wings for nothing. Betrayal is useless now, rush Catarina and get Gravicius to level 3 on your way. GG whole mechanic ruined, the removal of veiled chaos orbs was a mistake on top. Lab changes are utterly worthless except 3-4 gems which are meta now. Other then that it is useless to make a lab running character. Delve got hurt crazy with the removal of perfect fossils. Last edited by H3rB1985 on Aug 10, 2024, 9:30:35 AM

" What is bad (and easier), is to drag such discussions down to "you problem" again and again, when it was never about specific player's performance, be it stellar or poor. Games are not made based on "I can run it so its fine" (well, maybe poe is, lol). Like if one didn't spend weeks grinding 5+ hours a day this league, one can never have educated opinion. I'll let you in on a secret: lead devs not necessarily spend lots of time playing their games, and doubt GGG in an exception. By Pashid Logic, if he can dominate and trivialize a game like D3 with his vast personal skill and tenacity, then D3 has no design issues whatsoever. Otherwise, a "you problem":) And when one tries to make a statement about a concept as a whole, he is bombarded by "you are just salty you cannot faceroll T17 yourself". |

" Heist is only good if you get replicas or simplex/helical.... I mean yea thats been a thing for awhile. And its still insane $$$, probably one of the best in the game. Need a specialized character for it. Betrayal lost some loot but its not that bad with how much veiled are. And they are just going up. Lab changes from enchants to gems? Idk doesnt really have a noticable difference in $$$ making, probably even better now to be honest. We are definitely more powerful when enchantments were in the game versus today. Delve lost perfect fossils but... that doesnt mean its ruined. 400 depth this league and you make a killing off resonators and .... other fossils lol. As well as the usual $$ suspects like doryanis, auls ammy... I mean the quality rolls are gone but that doesnt mean delve is ruined. Loved it this league, never can go wrong with delve. Mash the clean

Just tried my first one. I also rolled it poorly to be honest, so badly that the boss was impossible to kill (degen pools, and drwningorbs). It was doable up to that point. My take on it: masochists need shit to do.

" You don't need to twist my words here cause what I've said was never about me to begin with :) It doesn't matter about which game we talk as it's all the same in every game. You as the player are at fault for your own decisions and your own gameplay. You hitting a wall is most often not the problem of the game or bad content design but just your own issue of making bad choices in either gameplay or with gear. In other words you're in fact your worst enemy and not the evil evil game with it's content you struggle with. You as the player are in charge of either getting better if you struggle or accept to struggle with certain content. But getting all upset and blaming a game for your own faults is just a very bad habit same as the constant demands of watering stuff down to your level because you're unable to beat it. At the very least if you don't get any better over time and still feel frustrated you could always consider playing a game that suits your strengths a bit more instead of expecting instant gratification in every game you touch. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. Last edited by Pashid on Aug 12, 2024, 1:51:29 AM

" I've recently asked another elite guy, maybe you can tell me how top-right tree characters are supposed to deal with physical damage on a T17 boss scale? Don't need exact build guide, just a concept of which mechanics I should draw on. |
|
" Lightning coil/Cloak of flame. End of list. |
|
" On my Hierophant I use Doppelganger's Guise + 4 Endurance charges. I run Enfeeble and Temporal Chains as well as Punishment (Debilitate makes enemies deal less damage). The build has 0 armour and does just fine. There are many tools you can utilize. Get creative with your character building. The game gives you more tools than you realise. Seriously, so many people are hard stuck on "I have to get 100% phys to elemental conversion to tank physical damage" which is just wrong. 50% DR is already plenty, and there are many ways of achieving that. Just Lightning Coil + 80% max lightning res already mitigates physical hits by 40% on a single item. If you play a top right build you have access to tons of evasion and ES. EB/MoM is popular for a reason. Dodge most hits, soak the few that get through. Ghost Shrouds help offsetting mitigation. Add more tools to that kit and you are gonna be *JUST* fine. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge. Last edited by ArtCrusade on Aug 12, 2024, 4:24:27 AM

" -phys taken as is still a thing that helps to lower the incoming physical damage -Endurance Charges even if it's just 3 helps along with other sources to get physical damage reduction like on shields or body armor or even a chaos golem if you can't cap your 90% without. -evasion/elusive helps as you don't have to deal with physical damage if you don't even get hit to begin with same as block. -blind is heavily overlooked as it gives you better chances to just don't get hit at all as it pairs well with evasion. -a large life or ES pool as a sponge to just take the hits like a man, Frost Shield does pair well with a nice es pool. But I think a decent life pool is kinda self explanatory and shouldn't be the only source of mitigation to rely on. -depending on the build you play Arctic Armour and Soul of Solaris/Soul of Tukohama do wonders -sap as ailment over secrets of suffering or leaderships is heavily overlooked but can be hard to implement in some builds as it takes more planing and might not work for all builds well. -various curses do help if you are able to drop your damage curse in trade for more survivability. -Getting crit immunity does help as physical critical hits can be very scary for any build without any serious physical mitigation. There are quite a lot of various ways to get a char on the right side tanky against phys hits. Most thinks are just rather simple and often overlooked items or mechanics but they do work wonder if you work with them. Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun. " Indeed. I would also mention Aspect of The Crab here. 24% physical damage reduction is strong, and it works perfect with blind and evasion (and block). And as you mention; do not sleep on endurance charges, even if we're only talking 3. Do not sleep on minimum endurance charges either. There are tools out there, with Aspects, Timeless Jewels, strong defensive flasks and amulets. It's just about fitting them into your build. And in some cases, you just have to go outside of your habits and comfort zone to discover solutions. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you. Last edited by Phrazz on Aug 12, 2024, 4:44:44 AM
