Let's talk about broken economies.......

Last league the economy was fucked up because of the way things adding up loot were working together, this league the "fix" completely ruined the economy within the first 4 days of the league thanks to the div card scarab that allowed you to print divines in a t1 map. Seriously, the inflation is so bad right now there is no point in playing the league (if you aren't playing solo selffound) because it is impossible to buy any t1 item if you haven't abused the scarab mechanic yourself. How is it possible to fuck up things so badly over and over again? I think it would be a good idea to let a few real players test a new league 2-3 days before the league starts. What do you think? /discuss

exploited currency should be removed from economy... but GGG cant/dont wanna

There was no actual divine inflation that happened, it's just normal early league saturation combined with the extra availability provided by the AH. The only thing this dupe affected were divines, even ignoring the fact GGG was on top of it, shut the dupe down quickly and locked most of the wealth, you can just look at the divine <-> chaos rate since the league start to see there was no divine inflation happening since the value of the divine never dropped. If this dupe had a significant effect on the market and affected prices it would have done so by lowering the relative value of the divine, items would both cost more divines and divines would be worth less chaos.

More people have currency to trade this league because of the AH, all currency is going to be worth somewhat less compared to normal. I have never traded before in thousands of hours of play, but this league I sold some scarabs and bought some fusings on the AH because it was convenient.

Why wouls anyone look at the chaos/divine ratio? Those guys printet about 100 divines every single T1 map that is why the price of MIRRORS or T1 items are completely bonkers. Who cares about the chaos/divine ratio?

Bro why are you even bringing mirrors in a conversation when it's still under 7 days into the league........ there aren't even any mirror tier items available(at least not that I know of) also just checked the price of mageblood and headhunter and the price seems right to me and looks a lot similar to the old prices of those items before 3.23. I think you got used way too much with headhunters being under 10 divs and now you are just ranting about it.

Also I'm not sure what kind of player you are but div to chaos and vice versa it's one of the more important things in the POE economy. But what the hell do I know :)) I say you focus on your own gameplay and maybe for once try SSF if you are that kind of player that gets frustrated that he can't pring magebloods and headhunters in the first 7 days .

Well, I'm sure you are not affected at all. ;)

Anyone remember spending weeks at a time not seeing single exalt? Back in the day, you were lucky to find a chaos every 10 or so maps. Now we get at least a hundred times more currency than we did back then, it's just you need to put some effort into converting it all into divines before you can spend them.

Essence, harb, legion, breach and let's not forget deli orbs. I'm speculating here, but I think people see these orbs as items, rather than what they are - just a different denomination of divine orbs. Honestly people are very keen to fork over large sums for deli orbs.

Although I am not playing this league (sad I know I wish I had time), prices honestly seem reasonable from what I'm seeing on trade.
I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

You are wrong. The price of mirrors and t0s spiked because they were buying them all to resell later, but their stash got locked and those items were effectively removed from the economy. Hence scarcity and higher prices, which will settle in a few days. The chaos divine ratio matters because if there were a lot of divines in the market they would be cheap, this is very basic economics. Since that is not the case and divines did not plummet in value, that means there is no excess of them.

A handful of people doing a handful of maps for a short period of time printing maybe a thousand divines or so tops is a drop in the bucket compared to the number of people playing.

At one point the exploiters (4 people) owned half of the mirrors in POE. That is not a drop in the bucket. Belton Youtube says the exploiters were making 15,000 divines a day.
8 mod maps are the new alch and go.

that exploit didnt affect the economy at all the prices of divine:chaos didnt change at all becuz GGG tracked the people who abused it and locked their accounts and didnt allow that made currency to be let in the market thats what they said maybe next time read up a bit
