Why is GGG afraid to to give us bigger inventory size?

money its the only reason thats it
I think Last Epoch nailed the inventory size and the fact you can kinda stash your crafting mats separately after you have looked at them. D2 inventory feels too small and so does PoE.
after playing the game 10 years and playing during affliction i feel that the inventory space + ruck sack space was the sweet spot.

for sure i would run out of space but it didnt feel as tho i kept running out of space.

it all boils down to GGG and their insistence of item weight.

No thanks. Wrong solution to the problem. Instead, please make inventory and stash smaller so I don't need to pick up so much crap.

The problem is gear. Remove half the tiers that can roll and then drop less rares. Do we really need 13 tiers of life rolls?!? Frikin' 13 man. C'mon. This would also make crafting less tedious.

thats where loot filters come in. and what you're asking for also touches a different thing, auto IDing. if auto IDing is a thing a lot of things would be filtered out.

i highly disagree with you on reducing the inventory size tho. i come from a low MF background and i have a habit of picking 6s gear and at times chrome recipe gear

PoE is way past the point where picking and ID'ing rares is a thing.

It's probably only relevant in early game.

Why not have some sort of atlas passive that gives you ID'ed rares. Might find a rare worth picking up in end game.

i actually agree with the "auto ID" thing but thats a separate discussion.

interestingly undecember does something very good with their ID system

all items are ID'd by default. IRC except uniques and high tiered rolls. so if you drop a unique or a high tier rolled item, you need to ID it.

to me it works really well. GGG's concept of giving players something to anticipate doesnt work well coz most of the time we pickup junk. but undecember works because we know the item has an exceptional roll but we dont know what it is until we id it. on top of that, IDing can cost more than just 1 scroll in undecember so it doesnt stagnate too easily

Are they afraid tho? Or do they just stick with the regular size for design and balance reasons?

It really does sounds like Affliction league once again spoiled players too much with the extra inventory space.
Enough that there's suddenly the fear of lacking inventory space hoho

This happens a lot; to the point I'm surprised GGG continues to do stuff like that. The blowback for losing the inventory space wasn't that big though so this time it worked out.

The Harvest reaction was ridiculous though. They should have a big sign over every whiteboard saying "Remember Harvest: They can't handle having something for one league only"
We could handle having harvest for one league, we were specifically told it was so broken it'd probably never return so we didn't expect it to.

They then sidelined it before bringing it back in a streamlined even more busted form which set said precedent.

The PoE community gets a fair amount of stick for tantrum throwing but this one isn't real, the only people responsible for the harvest whine are GGG themselves for trying to reintroduce something they knew was dumb when they put it in originally lol.

The 2nd time invalidated the sanctity of the first, made it even more powerful and insinuated we'd keep it.

Someone who would have preferred it to stay gone despite thinking Ritual league was peak PoE :p
