Why is GGG afraid to to give us bigger inventory size?

hoho so that's what it is fear.

Are they afraid tho? Or do they just stick with the regular size for design and balance reasons?

It really does sounds like Affliction league once again spoiled players too much with the extra inventory space.
Enough that there's suddenly the fear of lacking inventory space hoho
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.
And... What if you use 4 x "50% chance portal not consumed" scarabs ?
Inventory size problem fixed. Now enjoy picking up more scarabs roflopflopflop...

Here is where psychology comes into play.

You liked it because it was "more than before". Not because what you had before was too little and not because what you got was "enough".

That said, a dedicated spot for some currencies would be cool.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Pretty much this. 99% of players will at least have Wisdom and Portal Scrolls in their inventory. Most will also carry some Remnants of Corruption with them, and maybe some bubble currency for rolling strongboxes.

What was nice about the rucksacks was having dedicated inventory space that also could be used for sorting purposes with some spillover space in case you find too much loot for 1 portal.

But if anything those would be nice to have but nothing game breaking. Just "nice"
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
If I'm not mistaken Mark was flexible on adding a "storage" spot directly on the map device (for currency to roll maps or whatever). I think that will be coming soon actually.

As far as the inventory, the Devs really like loot weight and inventory pressure. I'm sure there is disagreement and philosophy gaps between GGG and the players, but this isn't changing. They want you to make decisions on what you pick up, and how often you need to portal out. Hell they even still like you using scrolls to ID stuff. Which lol.

In genreal PoE1 loot is pretty bad. The game is unplayable without a filter, and GGG knows this. It's being addressed PoE2 (apparently), but in all likelihood, PoE1 piss poor looting, unnecessary ID'ing, and general inventory/stash hell are not going away.

They're afraid?

Well, I don't need more space.
We've seen what "bigger inventory" looks like - quad-size tabs.

Does ANYBODY like quad tabs? They're awful. The loot icons are tiny, placing stuff is fiddly and awkward, it's difficult to see at a glance what you have.

Do y'all really want quad tabs as your character inventory? The answer is no.

A 'wallet' thing for storing some currency on the character could be neat honestly, but there's no need for quad-tabbing character inventory. I got one of the quads from the old threebie bundle deal, and frankly if I could sell it back to Grinding Gear for the price of one loot box I would. Dumb thing is offensively useless as anything but a mass garbage dump for packrats dumping crap from their league - and I say this as an incurable packrat.

The wallet idea is excellent.

I don't think they'll ever reduce quantity for quality though. This is divorced from the RNG they want. We must have 1000, 6xT11, ilvl85 items drop per T17, or they're putting their finger on the scale...

I'd say that maybe 1 in every hundred million rares that drops across the servers gets picked up. There are too many tiers of mods for things like life and ele res.
I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

Well we have 2024 now and i think some QOL could make the game even better. Im no fan thinks like walk through a whole city to get to your stash or walk to the healer to fill up your potions or pick up 100 different items one by one by one.

I think going less to town, picking up items easier would make the game better. I would like to take this things less of my playtime and actually play the game by killing monsters or trading and not by clear the map in 1,5 minutes and loot for 20 and got to town 5 times.
