Honestly when it comes to the PoE community, D4 gets off pretty easily by just getting called bad compared to PoE/the PoE devs after seeing some of the comments lol.

Feel everyones reaction to new leagues went from 'What goodies did GGG bring to us' to 'What did GGG fuck up this time'. Mixed with the complaining of the first-half of the whole league and then getting told to commit suicide, I feel for the GGG devs. No wonder they don't interact with its community anymore.

Yet here we are again. Its similar complaints that I've seen for years. GGG, and specifically Mark, know about this stuff. Its not new. I truly cannot understand it, and how we even got Necropolis at this point in PoE1's dev cycle.

Some other examples:

In genreal PoE is new player and casual hostile. They dont adjust, yet are concerned about it. I'm mystified.

The gulf between casual and elite is massive, yet they push the game further to the extreme. Why? We won't even go to the group vs solo debate because that is a joke.

Melee is STILL bad? My God at this point it's intentional right? Like this has to be personal for you Phrazz.

Also let's add more crafting complexity, that's seems like a good idea. We need more rng. Right? RIGHT?

I mean seriously when you step back and look, what in the actual fuck is going on? I've been mostly lurking lately, but wow. I'm not even going to mention how they branched PoE2 off, and there is no real "fixes" coming any longer.

The rest of your post? You're right, of course. Lots of mistakes, lots of contradictions. Lots of saying one thing, doing another. Despite all that, it's still the ARPG on the market that hits the most nails on the head when it comes to what I'm looking for in an ARPG.

I don't think I can ever go back to a game where if I want to play X skill, there's 1, maybe 2 real ways of doing that.

That was my entire point. How in the fuck does the Necropolis development discussion with the team, lead to what was released? It's insanely tone deaf. It was an rng nightmare for before that "what we are working on post" and subsequent patches (when the league was mostly abandoned already anyway)

Mostly agreed, at least on perspective. PoE isn't a "bad" game, but seriously they have alienated their fair share of players, and I don't know why exactly, "Vision Memes" aside.

All those Mark is the "lisan al gaib" jokes were not as funny when Necropolis launched under his direction. Oops.
