A PoE vs. Diablo thread? How refreshing.

In my eyes, PoE and Diablo offer something so completely different these days, that comparing them is rather futile. If you like deep character customization, grinding, speed and a (semi-) diverse endgame, PoE might be the best pick. If you like polish, a more streamlined experience and strict rules as to what is possible, Diablo might be your pick.

Play what you want.

That said; D4 Bad.

You know what's ironic here is that the more seemingly "complex" game is being ever narrowed by extreme metas and niche endgame.

I'd argue right now there is better build diversity in D4 than there is looking at 100k players on PoE Ninja.

I really like the D4 loot and gear changes, and endgame really has a decent amount to offer foe most average players. You have uber bosses, The Pit (rifts), Hell Tides, World Bosses, Nightmare Dungeons, etc... and all of these modes are relatively accessible.

The PoE T17 meta, and the small number of builds that do them, is fucking awful imo. Pushing the game further to the fringes of the player base. Hell even the defensive layers have gotten to a point beyond diversity. You are pigeon holed into very specific areas & choices by the endgame.

As you said different strokes for different folks, but I've gotten over PoE constantly disrespecting me and my time. D4 is legitimately great for me and a huge portion of people.

There is no build diversity in D4 as vast majority play necromancers, mostly with meta setup (biggest diversity there is like between poison srs or non poison srs lol).

D4 is an idle clicker, necromancers can beat 1-50 without using a single skill except summoning their minions ONCE on level 1. There is not much difference between it and tv show, both roll by itself. If someone find that kind of gameplay entertaining - for for it. Only upside of D4 compared to last year is that its free now.

Nah. And it's easy to check for yourself if you even cared, which you don't, my 40 challenge friend.

Sure D4 minions got buffed (imagine getting an actual buff) because they were gimped prior and couldnt scale well. Maybe folks are tying them out. That's true. Minions are popular builds across many games.

You can absolutely still smash D4 with dozens of other builds. At least 4 or 5 per class and easily make it to all parts of the game and have fun. There are few noob traps and dead ends. You see that as a negative because you like to feel like your are better than other folks. Hence your tag line signature. You are so good at PoE people think you RMT. Nah bro, I'm good.

I won't be gaslit by this, seen it too many times. You don't have to like D4, that's cool, but what's the good in being intentionally dishonest about it?

When people around here say D4 Bad, I think to myself? "It is?", and then just laugh.

Oh boy, I did checked, only because D4 is free. You don't have to use a single skill playing minion since level 1. You can kill everything in D4 with any build - sure, because you CAN'T fail. Dozen of builds tho? Not a chance, game have classes, not "builds", and the choices barely matter (again - as much different as srs vs poison srs lol).

Is D4 bad? It could be an insult to word "bad".

Lmao. Looks like someone needs to buy another 70$ horse.
And that folks is absolutely PoE in a nutshell, and why it's a niche game.

New to PoE? Grab chain hook, or one of dozens of other skills and you are fucked. I'd quit too, and people do. Look at the steam achievements for PoE. It's insane. The vast vast majority of people that try PoE hate it, and quit. Hell more than 80% don't even make it to maps. That's absurd, and a horrific business model for onbaording new folks. Mark even admitted to this. They know it's player hostile.

Anyways D4 leads into the class fantasy which many people prefer. In PoE almost anyone can be anything, which also means nobody identifies as anything either.

If you log on D4 and want to be a fire sorc, you can. Prefer cold or lightning, live your best life. Want to summon hordes of the undead, or smash as a Barbarian go ahead. With new classes on the way (something PoE hasn't done since Scion and even then, lol)

Anyways not trying to convince anyone on the PoE boards, but its nice to see the Diablo Derangement Syndrstrong is still going stong.

D4 bad.

Spoiler

This is why I went back to Diablo 2, I had to roll 4 Barbs just for different builds with that class alone.

Complaining about MTX pricing here is highly amusing. How's that $100 blue scorpion btw?
