No. They are complaining that the best sword that you have to offer is too expensive for them and they dont want some shitty rusted sword (thats the only thing they can afford).

I don't know how I would react if I had a firearm in my hands and a medieval knight is complaining about an overpriced bad sword. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That has nothing to do with the price of inflation and using a meta build. People are reading your post and are thinking, "what in the hell is this guy smoking?", what does inflation and playing meta build have to do with new technology and someone complaining about a hammer????

You're trying to compare a miles per gallon of a car and a rock rolling down a hill, and then telling everyone that you're the one making sense.

And what diffrence does it make what you are holding? You are running a buisness, you are trying to sell stuff. Due to inflation your price are higher. Customers that come to you are complaining that this shitty rusted sword is now same price as this well made sword did cost few months ago and they have no near amount of money to buy those well made swords now. They got used to a certain things costing fixed amount of money and they are suprised, that even tho they are getting paid 5 times more than they used to, the prices of goods are not the same, but instead, are 5 times bigger as well.
That is situation you are talking about. If you didnt know.
If I had difficulties reading a post, I would ask ChatGPT to assist me in analyzing the parts that I don't quite comprehend. I would then do a thoughtful reply and point out something related to the substance of the post.

I wouldn't waste my time with rage-baiting and ad hominem attacks, but I guess that's also the point. If people get sad / mad or bad 😠 maybe the discussion is forced to end?

On another note... this is sad. Definitely not a "Let's Go!" moment.

Are you implying that AI can interpret a text and analyze it without any mistakes? I guess that's off topic at this point, but I don't think any AI is at that point yet that there is a big enough guarantee for that. Also, you never answered my honest reply to explain your point nr.6 in simpler words. I'd still appreciate it.
why would asking a generative model help? As if a transformer would be able to genereate understanding, its just an attention based language model. and what does rage-baiting mean?

And a thoughtful reply would be wasteful, you're haven't made a point. You actually just posted your opinion on trade ideas (which are/were/will be discussed in 1000 threads already), made stupid analogies, genreated equally obsolete images, and are now mad that nobody wants to dicuss your drivel with you.
It also not hard to comprehend, its just that nobody cares to have those simple ideas bloated with irrelevant analogies.

Explain this:

I recently read a post on this forum in which a user complained about inflation, and another user criticized someone for using a meta build. The implicit message was "Well! It's your fault! you shouldn't have gone for a meta build".

Could you imagine? You are a modern-day blacksmith that has traveled through time. You are secretly developing modern technology and in your shop a knight is complaining about the quality of a hammer.

The passage you provided seems to be drawing a humorous analogy or comparison between two different situations. Let me break it down for you:

The first part discusses a forum post where a user complained about inflation. Inflation refers to the general increase in prices of goods and services in an economy over time. The post also mentions another user criticizing someone for using a "meta build," which is likely a term related to video games or online gaming.

The phrase "meta build" in the context of gaming usually refers to a specific strategy or combination of in-game elements that is considered highly effective or overused within the gaming community. So, one user is criticizing another for using a popular and effective gaming strategy.

The implicit message mentioned in the passage suggests that the person being criticized for using the "meta build" is being told, "Well! It's your fault! you shouldn't have gone for a meta build." In other words, the critic is implying that the complainer is to blame for their troubles in the game because they chose to use a popular and effective strategy.

The passage then transitions into a humorous scenario by saying, "Could you imagine? You are a modern-day blacksmith that has traveled through time." This sets up a completely different scene and scenario.

In this new scenario, you, as a modern-day blacksmith, have somehow time-traveled to the past. However, you are secretly developing modern technology in your shop, which is an anachronistic twist because blacksmiths are traditionally associated with crafting metal items using old-fashioned methods.

Meanwhile, in your shop, a knight is complaining about the quality of a hammer. This is an absurd situation because, as a modern blacksmith with access to advanced technology, you would certainly have the capability to create superior tools, including hammers.

The passage seems to be using humor to highlight the irony of someone in possession of advanced knowledge and technology being confronted with outdated complaints and concerns, such as a knight's dissatisfaction with a simple hammer in a time when much more advanced tools and technology would be available to you. It juxtaposes the two scenarios to create a humorous and thought-provoking contrast.

Chatgipity is more than capable. If you still feel it made a mistake, you can always ask for clarification. Usually, your own discernment and some context is enough.

Now, you did ask me to expand on No. 6, but then failed to use google or chatgpt. That in it and of itself doesn't feel like a dialog. It feels like bait, but even if it isn't... I've tried chatgpt and it provides a proper answer. The problem with that answer or my answer is that neither one is part of the Fellowship of the Ring and most of the replies so far have been from either Gríma Wormtongue or a Knight.

🔥🤣 It's kind of cool that the analogy still works... Definitely not as "bloated and irrelevant" as some say 🤣🔥.

No wonder your posts were so weird if you need to use ChatGPT to explain you what people are saying to you.

Fine! It's the tiresome 1-2-punch-combo you see in academia. I hate it, because it usually bogs down a conversation. Specially, if people with ill intentions want to start nitpicking.

To even attempt to answer your question on point No. 6 I need to do a dreaded "buzzword bingo" that feels so cliche... but hey! you asked for it. So, brace yourself...

Spoiler
Issue No. 6 is a multifactorial problem that requires a multidisciplinary approach. 🤮 there I said it! happy?

GGG would have to assess the situation and address each case accordingly.

I can provide an example, of one factor and one approach to better illustrate the point.

Spoiler
Battle State Games (BSG) is the developer of Escape From Tarkov (EFT). For years people were saying "Hacking is really bad, do something!". BSG would then compare EFT to a huge ship that had too many things attached, and it was very complex and hard to fix. Spaghetti code for short. Some streamers were also accused of partaking in the exploting and hacks. LVNDMARK was thrown into question multiple times with multiple videos being beyond suspicious. Nothing happened. Time went on and one guy called g0at released a video and THEN came the storm. BSG for the first time in years decided to take action. In this case, they decided to call the police and that got a cheatmaker raided. I assume they are in trial? Idk.

Now, how is GGG going to address datamining? Well, it depends, doesn't it?

Spoiler
The ToS state that you are not allowed to use any data gathering and extraction tools or software to extract information from the Path of Exile website or game. Then, if you jump into the API developer documentation you will see that GGG reserves the right to remove access to any or all of our APIs and services without notice at our discretion. Furthermore, "(...) even if an application performs only actions approved by us, there is nothing stopping that from changing without the users, or our, notice."

So, in GGG's case the first step would be to shut down all access to the API. All of it. That creates a void. We need:

- price checking.
- market data (for our stash, our guild, and the entire market).
- information on how X item affects our character.
- we need to be able to save / export / import passive trees so we can plan our steps. Unless they remove the need for a regret orb. I doubt it, so until then they either built the feature into the website or make a single exception for PoB.

Concomitantly, if there was any breach into any system or property belonging to GGG that would mean they would also have to involve the authorities. Just like BSG did.

Now, there is still a bunch of economic data collected, right?

PoE 2 won't have that issue, because PoE 2 is already a separate game with a separate economy with a separate system. In a way, it feels that GGG is going to put POE in life support and start with a better baseline with PoE 2... but I digress.

So, what to do with all that data once you've cut off the data mining?

You change the way currency items work. You import changes from PoE 2 into PoE 1. You continue to change how skills work and how you obtain them (you've already seen this in action with the transfigured gems and lab). You itemize services. You add programing that will eliminate the need for a human escrow.

Still, data is out there. Add active anti-cheat measures. The game already has implemented all the tools we've been using for a decade and then some. There should be no need for a third-party tool to come into this space... specially if you remember that we revoked API access to all tools (except maybe for PoB). With the anti-cheat you make sure nobody is reading data from the game, because they don't have to anymore.

Next step, those chronically online... those doing mirror-services and doing hundreds if not thousands of mirror services a day / league. Come on! Wake up. It's a business. Perma ban. You've perma-personally banned people for words... mind as well do it for something as egregious as destroying the market and cheapening the experience for everyone.

At the same time all of this is being implemented... ban all bots.

In short, It's an RMT / Bot apocalypse.

To pull it off, GGG needs a multidisciplinary team... lawyers, law-enforcement (if needed), IT security experts, behavior analyst / psychologist for the dopamine hooks... yada, yada, yada.

GGG would also have to throw the kitchen sick at them and hit them with everything from every angle all at once. That would ensure their business is put on pause (while they figure how to adapt or while they deal with bans or any legal issues).

Mind you this is just ONE problem and ONE approach.

Paraphrasing the legend, AFFL_UnBROKen, you leave them crying like your little sister. (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3484937)

https://www.pathofexile.com/legal/terms-of-use-and-privacy-policy
https://www.pathofexile.com/developer/docs

At the end of the day, it's just words. I'm not in the Fellowship of the ring. Heck! GGG could have a change of heart tomorrow and follow Blizzard's path. If that happens, I know the game is not for me because I don't find pay-to-win appealing at all.
