Why not throw the ring into the sea?

If you actually wanted this to be an "article" that would be posted somewhere, you should follow the basic rule of stating what your post is about in the first paragraph or you will lose everyone along the way...
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
Well, we are living in a medieval word and you are supposed to outmatch the lack of quality of your hammer with the capacity of your brain.

Therefore here is a list of places where you can get rid of your ring:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_volcanoes

and no, you don´t have to waltz through mordor, only if you want to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcKqhDFhNHI
the typical approach of wanting to be intellectual, but stopping at looking.

Maybe this helps:
Clearly state the theme of your thesis, what its about, define the outline to your conclusion and describe the progress to get there.
Be concise, use the simplest language possible that still describes all aspects of your Thesis.
Never use comparisons, especially not if you are only complicating the issue (this mostly done when someone want to look smarter than they are)

simple, right?

What should they do about 6 for example?

There is a ton of things GGG could do so far, they've said:

- Introduction of regulatory changes.
-- Gold to setup listings
-- Taxation
- Technological Advancements
-- Asynchronous trades
-- Instant buyouts.

Implicitly, we understand that this league serves as a beta test for magic find and hyper-juiced rewards. I believe it was exceptionally clever the way they approached it, starting by depleting the lake in Kalandra and then releasing the dams this league. Doing it the other way around would have been disastrous because people would have deemed the adjustment "too much," and they would have requested gradual changes, which would have continued indefinitely.

If GGG implements these changes gradually over the years, it will give toolmakers time to adapt and adjust. However, these changes will fail if they are made half-heartedly, as the question is no longer whether we should be using swords and sticks in the game.

Canonically we know PoE is set out in a steam-punk world. This means industry, economic models, math. If they had chosen a pre-history setting for this aRPG it shouldn't be thematically possible to have market tools.

Spoiler

Again, we know these modern-day toolmakers are here.

Spoiler

It's fine if a knight wants to continue hacking away with a sword, but it's not okay if a modern-day toolmaker or a knight forces people to use an axe while they use a chainsaw. Furthermore, it's not fine if a toolmaker demands you pay a monthly patron fee to access some of his tools. That's how bad it is today.

Spoiler
... and sure! one of the toolmaker groups released a spreadsheet (gimped out) and that lame sheet was "translated into a website". Still, the vast majority of users are still in the dark ages fighting with sticks and stones. While some are fearful of interacting with these tools because they don't want to risk their accounts.

... also! if you are a toolmaker and you start to analyze the available data by these third-party "benevolent" toolmakers you start to see discrepancies. Now, I know GGG throttles the speed of data mining efforts or even blocks it in some cases. I know that introduces a ton of latency, but most of the time the data you get has NOTHING to do with what's truly on the market. That's TROUBLESOME to say the least and it doesn't matter what the reason is.

An example? You are price checking, getting an old (or made-up price), and you execute that trade based on bad data. I'm sorry, but that's basis of annulment of any contract (trade in this case). Now, GGG is going to argue "Oh! we need to introduce friction there" and then you take a look at so many other games that DO NOT have friction at this inflection point. Heck! In the real-world it would be fallout illegal.

It's also important to add that once these tools are created, it is incredibly easy to re-skin them and sell them as something new.

... and the only way to guarantee a fair market is if GGG provides the tool and bars any third-party tools.

Spoiler

On a side note: I might be reading too much into it, but I find it fascinating that a self-evident truth automatically manifested on the prompt result. It's true, a knight would have no legs to stand on under such conditions.

nothing you described changes ten years of data mining though. Also, you are basically stating things as your idea here that were brought up in the Ziz interview as solutions.
I know, I know, we are not supposed to discuss any of this. Specially not in any deep and meaningful way. It's all supposed to be a passing superficial blip or else it will get buried by necro-posts or rage-baiting.

It's funny to see people insinuating plagiarism / theft of ideas and blatantly ignoring the references or my post history. Maybe I should start using APA and citing proper references? 🤣 Nah! pass!

Now, I'm not trying to get banned. So, I can't be constantly replying to people directly.

As of this reply. I'm sure I've answered all replies on this thread... Maybe not to the degree where some critics can be complete satiate, though I'm not sure that's even possible.

I misread a thing and take back what I said in my previous post.
Alas, I still don't understand how new tools will change the data mining from the last 10 years. The market surely has changed from league to league anyways. Can you explain it in a non cryptic way?
To me, this post is a 101 on how to hide your actual point in a lot of BS. I've read it two times now, and I'm still not sure what OP is actually getting at. That's probably a "me problem", and I'll take my L here.

Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Nah, that L is on OP for not being able to make concise arguments
