The issue with microtransaction based RPGS

People who have no issue paying for useless cosmetics usually have 0 issue paying for in game currency.

The ridiculous number of websites selling PoE currency are kind of proof of this.

That being said the target audience is unfortunately RWT players.

This is just one of the issues with this game.. the fact that its riddled with currency exchange bots due to the absolute lack of an auction house is just another thing.

In World of Warcraft you have to pay for the game/expansions, buy monthly subscription and the game has auction house, but still the game is filled with gold sellers. So I fail to see how microtransactions or the lack of AH has anything to do with currency selling. Imho, it just shows that no matter how big a game or its budget is, currency sellers is a serious challenge for game devs.
Name one multiplayer online game that doesn't have a secondary, 3rd party market for RMT. Let's hear some examples, OP

Everything i see with RMT users is a basic account with maybe one or 2 supporters packs, just something for them to hide behind when they get hit with a ban (they really do thing that giving money to the company shields them from punishment) otherwise it's a bare account.

Also just to put it out there BUT every paid online mmo has RMT.

What the hell is this? Do you actually believe this? And can you show me ANYTHING to back this up?

Jeeze...
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

My favorite example is BDO - the game doesn't have player to player trading, doesn't have a mail, has an extremely regulated auction house (many items are literally unbuyable due to having a low hardcap on price)... and there's still BDO silver being sold through RMT.

I imagine the discussion at the table of the Council of RMT went something like
"[...] and so that concludes the list of new MMOs we started making money off from"
"But what about Black Desert Online? Do we profit off that yet?"
"No, but with no player to player trading, an elaborate auction house and all that, the chance is maybe 1 in a million"
"So you say there is a chance...."

LOL.

The least you can say is that most people, as evidenced in this thread, are jaded about the topic.

That is also why I don't care about people getting 40/40 challenges because it could all be rmted.
