Why Affliction feels so good.
Affliction is something that GGG always tried to do, but failed pretty much every time. GGG always said they want to have "risk vs reward" in their game, however every single time it was looking more like this:
0% risk = 80% reward 300% risk = 100% reward Affliction is very close to what it should be (altho MF made it too rewarding, but its another topic) Affliction is league where 0% risk = 0% reward 500% risk = 500% reward. For the first time in this game history players are properly rewarded for making "uber builds" and running content that most regular builds would struggle with. I hope to see more leagues like these in the future (but prefferebly w/o MF giving even more reward on top). Last bumped on Jan 5, 2024, 4:29:36 AM

I agree! This season really pushed me to optimize my builds beyond what I normally do, and it pays off big time. I didn't think I could have had more fun than TotA but here we are!

In 14 days, the league had its peak daily players halved.
There's a guy streaming who himself dropped 10 mirrors and counting. And there's not even a month going on league yet. I'm sorry, but I can't agree with you that much. This league is not that funny, at least not for me. Economy is sorta messed up because of what GGG made. I don't really care about that, but I usually like to switch between builds middle-league, try new stuff, grab my own challenges (without buying them), and when the prices of everything ramp up (because nobody cares about selling stuff for chaos anymore and divines are being dropped by 10s, not 1s), it sorta gets more difficult and I have to stop to farm the same map everyone's farming, using the same abyss mechanic everyone's abusing... Affliction is finally a league that embraces the ARPG soul: Kill monsters, get loot - instead of "open this box at the end".
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

Im not sure that MF juicing t7 cemeteries is exactly 500 % risk, but it sure drops well...
