Feels a bit tone deaf

Basically if you don't quality your gems there was no skill gem balanced. I am befuddled how they could say more or less that they've ran out of balance fixes that could be done. Are they saying "If you want to play melee find another game because we've run out of ways to fix how OP spells are"? When there was literally thousands of good suggestions nearly everywhere you look for how to help melee without breaking the game. I am quite disappointed. As of right now it feels like more of the same unless you quality, and very few people do this for more than just a few gems. Nearly all of leveling will be the same, with very few changes.

The community was nearly screaming "MELEE????" and the answer seems to be, we don't care, because we nerfed it so bad that no one plays it anymore.

How about removing the attack penalty from melee gems?

What about a melee version of Ensnaring Arrow? Possibly support gem or Gladiator rework since Gladiator was gutted.

Bleed stacks? Impale? Melee weapon damage imbalance? How about that there we have almost no mid tier melee 2h weapons when there are 20 X more mid tier caster Unqiues?

Seems like you entirely missed large sections of the QA. They said they don't want to add complexity to the earlier gems, adding another +10% damage isn't exciting, so the new alternate versions have the more complex mechanics that allow for significant power gains. There's plenty of buffs to melee and other skills coming, they are just going to be on the alternate versions. Many of which are just fully "better" and more powerful but require more interesting and niche build choices to take advantage of.

You mean the near 30+ min about PoE 2 until the stream crashed? That's what we call excuses. We can't make changes due to all the changes we just made. This absurd idea that "You have to wait and see" just to find out nothing has changed. What he basically said was 'We have no idea WTF we just did, we don't have a clue if someone is going to find some melee build that might work". That's far more accurate of what was said.

What I do know is nearly nothing has change from lvl 1 - 85 more or less.

You mean other than hundreds of new skills. The **** is even the basis for you post here? This is the most transformative update the game has ever received, you seem to be wildly misunderstanding the scope here.

Nothing has changed.
We still can not even beat monsters by peaceful conversation about our moral system and religion. What is the point?

They also require eternal lab....
It'll depend on what the new skill gems are, but so far minions just got heavy nerfs across the board in the revised base gems/patch notes. Did they get buffs somewhere else recently that's being balanced here?

Also are there multiple altered gems? the zombie one more or less turns it into a non-minion skill. which is cool for spellcasters, but kinda sucks for minion builds.

They dont. First access is in normal lab. IIRC you can supposedly farm normal lab for the gems you want.
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

1-2 per skill for this first batch. So ya it's very possible there is a second zombie one that is more minion-y and has some advanced mechanic and power.
This gem system is replacement for alt quality, helm enchants and jewels. Where did you get those? Wehere did you quality your gems in the first place? Also you get whole fkn new ascendancy on top of regular one, thats crucible level of power creep. What are you even complaining about?
