WoW Classic Hardcore vs PoE Hardcore

Want to see something interesting? Go look at Path of Exile RIP compilations on youtube, then go look at the recent WoW Classic Hardcore rip compilations.

The difference is extreme.

In PoE, its just clip after clip of people dying in 0.25 seconds to a giant mess of colors on the screen, then asking "how did I die?", often with them smashing their logout-macros just a hair too late.

In WoW Classic HC, every clip is a unique adventure, they last from 15 seconds to a minute, the player knows exactly how they died, and it's a long struggle to conquer or escape by using all their in-game tools.

I have already died twice in WoW Classic HC, and the experience was incredible. The overwhelming dread when I realize I'm in trouble, the panic, the desperate moves with a glimmer of hope. Do I run and leave my friend to die? Do I try to be a hero? Can we still win this fight? There's no insta-log, so it's do or die.

I have high hopes that PoE2's hardcore is going to be closer to WoW HC than PoE 1's.

I'm sure if you compared poe from 2013 they'd look closer to wow classic hc deaths

Anyway, wow classic is boring to watch.
Two completely unrelated games and genres.
You need to be an idiot, if you play WoW Hardcore Classic.

The game takes too long to level, stupid shit causes deaths etc.

The end game is Raiding, which will cause raid wipes. nothing about the idea is smart, WoW Classic was not meant to be hardcore, period.

And yet it's attracted hundreds of thousands of players, many have already reached 60, and a guild has already defeated the first raid successfully.

Not everyone has the stomach and talent for it though, true.

Source?

Also, so what that they have reached level 60. Now they won't enjoy the game as much, because they will walk on egg shells the entire experience. Talent =/ being lucky
Go check out the list of full official HC realms. Then take a look at the number of unofficial hardcore players using the hardcore add on. Yes, hundreds of thousands of players. Also, in just the first 24 hours, there were over 90k deaths reported by blizzard.

As for "walking on eggshells", another term for that is being cautious. And yes, that is part of the hardcore experience that I and so many others enjoy.

And luck plays only a small role. Good players may die on occasion trying to reach 60. Bad players will never make it.

That aspect, yes. But the differences pointed out in the original post make a gigantic difference
