Haven't PoE 2 devteam learned from d4 devs?

We haven't seen how fast the endgame is in poe 2, we only saw low level characters in the acts. I'm trying to be optimistic here

wtf guys? if you like to do 30 second maps you can still play the poe1. Some players wants little bit gameplay instead of flash speed maps.

Super agreed with this!
"For we are not now that strength, which in old days moved Earth and Heaven. That which we are, we are; one equal strength of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will: to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield." - Ulysses, Tennyson
Not a big fan of what I've seen so far, but I'm effin happy that they've decided to make it a separate game instead of bringing all of this into PoE 1. Frankly, I to am more hyped about the next league than I am about PoE 2.

my maps take like 5 min because of the content I run and I still think poe 2 looks awful. it's a scuffed mix of diablo 4 and lost ark, nothing more

I'm a bit on the fence here. For one I was never a fan of "Cult of Zoom" play style. And having played other games where the goal was just to hit 1 button wipe the room, you're bad if you take 4 buttons to kill the dungeon boss; I'd like to actually play the game rather than have the game exploded around me.

That and I was never good enough at making or piloting builds to get to that point so I just slammed into the expected stat wall. Slowing the game down sounds good to me.

Flip side is making it TOO slow. Some of the fights taking forever was a major turn off in some ARPGs or games close to them. More so when that's supposed to be the 'grinding' section of the game.

Speed in an ARPG is a bit of mess to try and balance around; either there's nothing in the game to boost it or a big focus of the game is built around Gotta Go Fast.

If you don't want fast gameplay why even play an ARPG. I don't know if you know this, but these games are literally all about speed, and efficiency. It is core to the genre. If your slow and weak, your build is bad. If you are strong and fast, your build is good. There is no in between. The never ending goal of RPG's is to get stronger, faster, and more efficient. When the core design philosophy of what makes an RPG is slowed down for no reason, it goes against the very core design of the genre, and it results in a horrible game.

It is fine for early game to be slower. How can you enjoy faster, if the game is always fast from the start. Slower start and fast end game lets you see how far you have come. Without that dynamic it is hard to tell you have many any real meaningful form of progression, and is a huge reason why D4 has so many issues. If you are not playing something that is literally broken and bugged, you just get mediocre slow combat, and slow progression, with 0 fun to be had along the way.

8 years of devtime for this?

The devs design the game knowing how much RoI they can achieve.

It doesn't need to be fun, as long as whales spend money, and so it won't be fun. GGG have never ever shown any inclination to be player-friendly and they ain't gonna start now.

GGG are perfectly content w how the metrics are coming along.

Just stick to PoE 1 and forget about forced-Ruthless PoE 2

These are actual quotes btw, not AI-generated garbledygook. People _actually_ think this way, shudder.
