XP death penalty in POE2

Jonathan said he wants reaching lvl100 to be harder in POE2.
With that said, i think XP penalty is very likely.

I watched the interview and I got the impression that he doesn't wants to extend this time to level 100 by death penalty. But who knows.

Exp penalty is fine as long as combat isn't a tsunami mess where you cannot see shit even in solo. And where deaths happen in a fraction of second even if you ran this same content deathless 100 times before.

Maybe POE2 will do better.

IIRC, Jonathan spoke about death penalties directly in one of those interviews, and said there won't be one. They expect you to die in PoE2, really a lot; boss fights are supposed to be especially difficult. They're not planning to penalize you for dying, while also designing the game to kill you a few times while you learn the boss fights. The longer time to 100 that they're targeting seem to be more about the game's pace and general difficulty than about XP penalties, specifically. Talkative Tri (https://www.youtube.com/@TalkativeTri) has done pretty decent recaps of all the interviews, if you want to find the actual comment without re-watching hours and hours of interviews.
