Hey there,
first of all I'd like to thank you for that incredible guide. I really appreciate detailed guides like yours! Really helps to understand some of the dynamics of PoE. I would like to ask you to review my build if possible. https://pastebin.com/z5FJj2Nz Any possible updates besides better weapons and progenesis right now you would recommend? Both are not affordable for me right now I will do ulab right now, then level to 90+. My flasks arent optimal, but besides that any recommendations? Thanks a lot! " The mods are good. The build isn't. Below is purely my personal opinion, but let me start with a simple chart of what I think Path of Exile should be played. Hardcore Investments [----Offence----][-------------------------Defense-------------------------] Softcore Investments [-------------------------Offence-------------------------][----Defense----] So PoE is about problem solving and optimizing stuffs. A Hardcore player would like to minimize investments in Offence while maximizing Defense. A Softcore player, however, should attempt to do the opposite. This is due to the massive difference between dying in Hardcore and dying in Softcore: one would eliminate hundreds of hours of work; while the other, probably just half a minute wasted to walk from the portal to where you were. Poison Totem Explode (or any other DoT builds) has its advantage of reaching a reasonable damage output with near to zero investments. This is a Hardcore approach to problem solving. The damage ceiling is low unfortunately, so no matter how hard you try, your dps is always capped at 35M per second, and it always requires a brief ramp up time staking poison hits. So going poison is something I would only recommend new players to do. It minimizes budget and maximizes the content they can explore. This is what most popular streamers called as a beginner-friendly build (aka hardcore-viable build). But if you are a long term player having basic knowledge to the game, and if you want my advice since you asked here: Give up poison now and go ham on speed and hit damage. Your build is tanky enough as long as you can finish a map in 6 portals. Optimizing defense in softcore is about minimizing the number of portals used, not damage taken. Champion is tanky enough on its own, so you should put all your efforts into damage and speed. Get tankier only if you feel dying too much. The immutable force and bloodnotch jewels would be good in your build. Good luck. Right, just fire.

anything you would suggest for standard characters after the league ends? (provided we bring the weapon back to STD)

Can someone explain: If I combine The Annihilating staff and Holy Flame Totem (its elemental skills, right ?) does explosion also do triple damage ?
