Thanks for the link.

Yea I think the USA is going to pump the race to AI up like no tomorrow.

Johnny Harris' view on some things that happened related to chips and some big parties (avoiding politics here).

Did you try turning it off and on again?
Here's another interesting NYT article by the artist Sarah Anderson - and a screenshot version on imgur

Another but older -- and I think in terms of how quickly this topic is moving, more than a bit. Not saying it's not relevant -- she is, after all, one of the main proponents in the class action -- but it must be noted it comes well before the NYT article about Microsoft's commitment to OpenAI.

Then there's this:

Which is incredibly cool but then when you put that level of physical capability into the context of a discussion where we wonder if AI needs to be taught how to suffer to create actual art...then it gets a little scary, because AI is fun and all when it's teaching robots to do parkour or programs on computers to respond amusingly to trollbait questions about controversial topics, but the combination of the two is a little less easily dismissed as merely academic. Dunno about you but I'm not quite ready for Nietzschean Cyberninjas.

This is creepy and those deep fake tech are also used for fake celebrity porn sadly. While my 15 year old self would have loved that, the adult in me is disgusted by what could happen in everyday life when some perv can just create porn out of anyone pictures and videos.

Killer robots are already there, with facial recognition .

I mean, on the plus side it does sort of 'fix' lazy eye, so that's one genuinely good application of it...

A.I. generated videos were already used in warfare too. Not going into details (I think we know).

Scary.

The false flag applications are going to be really problematic in the near future. At a time when media trust is extremely low amongst the public, and the news broadcasters needing to monetize reporting, this is a hellish combination for propaganda in general.

Soon enough, if not already, you wont know what to believe unless you see it with your own eyes in person. (Until further advancements in holographic tech at which point fuck it lol)
