There was not sufficient time to playtest the change properly for feeling. -Chris
Yet now you are saying that in 2 days you tested your new loot changes enough to say that it is fine? Meanwhile Solo players arent getting any synthesised items in Cortex and subordinate maps, Essences are raid bosses and unrewarding and the new rare system feels like a scratchoff lottery ticket that you win 2 bucks half the time(smithing stones rare drops) while chasing the very suspicious 70divine screenshot groupcucks |

"Our plan is not to gut the rewards out from Path of Exile."
But if you compare Ritual to today's PoE, you have already done so, no? |

" You are high if you think anything like that. I`m a really casual poe gamer and this is actually the first league I`m actually doing really endgame stuff. Archnemesis felt awful before because it was too tanky or immune to damage with no reward in sight, so it was better to just ignore it rather than fight it. Archnemesis loot explosion feels really great now. It could use some tweaks but really, the game is better now. The only thing I really don`t like is the league mechanic. Kalandra Mirror Tablet feels annoying to walk around and even to set it up. It the single worse mechanic in the game by far and it made me love Incursions more, which i thought impossible. Empy and his gang are crying too much and taking these things as if it were the end of the day. Meanwhile there a part of the community still having tons of funs trying new stuff out. |

"Drops are in a pretty good place."
I don't trust your assurances. At all. Please give numbers. PoE players understand math, use spreadsheets, and instinctively understand decreased/less and increased/more differences. What are the drops compared to 3.18? Alch and go T11, as an example. I'm an engineer, I'm quite good at math. "pretty good" I'm just assuming is a lie. Give me the numbers. |

I never post in these threads but feel like I need to this time. Once upon a time a friend talked me into playing POE and I loved it. Finding a fun build and mass killing mobs with at least a chance of good drops was a fun way to spend my "escape" time from life's daily tedium. BUT...The past couple of leagues and up to now this has changed. Now only a handful of builds are viable to take casuals to red maps and that is if you can get the drops/currency to make those work. (yes - I DO like the sense of being over powered in my fantasy game play. It is a fantasy game after all ...)
To see that a group of top % players can drop 60+ divines from a single mob while I can't get a single divine to drop, or even have the currency needed to successfully 5 link an item is discouraging and dis-heartening. The frustration and anger generated when overpowered Arch-Nem mobs one shot me, or quickly chase me down to deliver POE's sense of "game challenge" just isn't fun. I don't want to be forced to play hard core mode, life already deals up all the stress I need. But now POE wants to be punishing as well. Me and some friends were talking and doing the "remember when" scenarios of POE and the good ole days, because as of late the fun parts of the game have certainly been disappearing. I am the last of the group still playing the game. The sense of fun, accomplishment and excitement is just being drained from the game for me. It's your game and your choice of the vision forward, and I will make my choice to play based on the experience I have. |

I agree with most of your Philosophies, but the implementation leaves a lot to be desired.
1. Archnem mods don't add anything interesting to the game, they just feels like the old Diablo 2 "immunity to fire" mods. Meaning they don't add any difficulty for most builds, but cripple others. We all loved D2, but don't copy the worse parts of it. 2.Loot explosions are a nice rush, but if too much of the loot is dependent on them the rest of the game feels like a waste of time. 3.Rares on the ground will never be the best way to get an item. The best way to make random rares mean something is to re-add recombinators or move to a crafting system like Last Epoch. 4.Crafting an item has always made it more valuable to me then finding it, so lessening the amount of RNG in crafting is always good in my book. Liked the changes to harvest, but hope you bring back the missing mods. Right now a lot of the player base is feeling the same thing that people felt watching D2 to D3. We feel the game we love is changing for the worse and are speaking out. Don't listen you anyone attacking you and stay well. Last edited by PatchWorkCat#0962 on Aug 26, 2022, 1:54:37 AM

On replying on your notes:
Philosophy Two: >>> It had become over challenging, especially early game. Doesn't AN mods also buff the monster's overall HP, Defense & attacks? Please consider reducing that too, there was a person who came in rare encounter mobs with SEVEN arch nemesis mod, which is too extreme. Philosophy Three: >>> This current league after difficulty 8 onward + arch nemesis mod had gone over the roof. Hence this is not rewarding due to difficulty. Please tune down the difficulty on kalandra more. Because the difficulty overall increase mobs entire stats On the mistake you have made, please set the time for the league to 4 months instead of 3. with an extra 1 month, your end will be able to test run anything you made without bringing negative impacts on the game. This is already not the first time it has happened. The drama that happen over & over again made us the players lose trust on GGG. We are willing to wait for a longer period to avoid more similar issues happening again. To be honest, without making the game harder, people will able to farm easier without needing crazy end-game gear, you want to end RMT? you need to stop making the game harder, only people who grind hard & understand games well will get more benefits on it. When Demand rises, so does the market. If you want RMT to walk away from your game, please stop making the game harder, especially on currency & gear Farming. And also, please fix the current problem with the game like invulnerability aura , it causes massive FPS drop spikes or even game crash Not to mention league overlapping causes a huge lag problems. I do hope my post reaches out to your end. P.S Btw, please change the arch nemesis mod that drop utility flasks, to be honest, it's pretty hold no value & doesn't do the game good. Hi GGG,
First of let me say that i am hurt by the response of the community and i hope that you are all doing ok, its been a rocky start for sure but this is still the best game out there. I personally am enjoying the league but i will try to give my viewpoints as honestly as i can. I am a moderate i would say, this is the first time ive played in SC trade and this was the league to try it for sure. Usually i play HC 4-5 chars a league and then i quit. I almost never do "end game" content in terms of bosses and i almost always rely on guides and or other member of the community to get my builds going. My first playthrough i didt have a huge issue with progression but i was thinking constantly i have no currency. If i would have played HC i thought initial progression whould have been rough, getting that initial crafting done to progress to maps. SC is a different beast for sure, and when i started mapping i died constantly. I was for the first few days struggling with the idea of HOW to progress. This was new that i at higher levels didt have the currency to alteast try to roll for some better gear. This in itself was a bit frustrating. BUT had the changes from the last few days been at launch i honestly think it would have been fine. Balance is impossible in PoE, you have people like me who play with alch and go mapping style and 6-mans spending enormous amounts of currency to "juice" content. I am not smart enough to know how to do balance around that. Now to the Kalandra content, i think its a really cool system and its fun to make your own lake. Here are my takes on it: 1. I wish i could bank a few choices, sometimes you can work up to something that could be really (potentionally) rewarding only to almost brick it comparing to others. having the option to save a few backups would make it alot more fun i think. 2. Kalandra was voice acted beautifully, i treasure those insights into whats been going on but it was a bit thin. I know that this is not a priority for a huge vast amounts of the playerbase who barely reads or listens to it but i would have loved some more interactions with Kalandra. Maybe there are things nobody has found yet but lets just say that whatever we did get was amazing, truly. 3. Communication and testing is always going to be a problem in PoE. 4 leagues per year give little to no room for testing. I think the vast majority of players understand this. Sometimes its going to go bad, this was one of those times. Yes communication took a hit, but i love the fact that i am a blank slate going into the league, there is stuff to explore on your own. Games where everyone knows everything from beta testing newer versions is not something i would like. Im sure a vast majority would enjoy that and it would give alot of players something to do in the later stages of the league. But introducing that would only put more pressure on an already pressured timeline. League-start doesnt start the friday that we get into the game, it starts 2 weeks before with discussions and later on with buildcrafting. Most of us are 2 weeks invested the first minute we enter the game. Mistakes big and small are going to happen, and in order for the game to progress they are vital. I like alot of people are enjoying and supporting the game and nobody in there right mind would belive that bad things are done with intention. |
