[3.27] Ice Dancing God - Icestorm/Cyclone/CI - Viable For Everything

i have to say this was the easiest league start i have ever had. the qol features are insane. trading via hideout shop is great.

the amount of good defensive 5l armours with good stats is a joke. economy is completely busted. i got mine for like 10 chaos and it is better than any i had in prior leagues.

made the mistake to switch very late to zealotry and do other damage upgrades.

this is imo crucial since the waves in league mechanic need to die really fast or you do group play and trivialize the encounter.

this league is easy in group play. get a friend and go for atlas completion together and you will have an amazing time with the mechanic.

still no idea about good grafts though. there seems

I can't protect the hive at tiers 1-5. Maybe there's a secret? At wave 20+, that's it.
According to the tooltip, DPS is 7k without charges... and that's not enough to kill mobs.

The build is bad, you need too much RNG and buy too many items for it to feel good on league start. I swapped to another build on the 2nd day and have no regrets. You basically need 5s/6s on both weapons and at least 1500 int for the build to feel ok, basically what most other builds can do SSF without any traded gear.

The only benefit is this build becomes braindead EZ mode with enough investment. I have played this build in the past to 100 on a few occasions and it is mindless broken OP when geared, but you need to invest at least 20 hours and hope for some RNG or do some heavy grinding with bad clear speed to get it online, otherwise it just feels bad.

Just my experience, if you have 5+ hours a day to play the build can be good after some investment. I swapped to poison concoction and was doing maps and clearing 5x faster within 6 hours.

The thing is that I currently have 1900 intelligence, and I simply can’t defend against the hives on white maps, it’s ridiculous.

can you post your current character info ? might be you are missing a few pieces in the build causing your damage to drop off.

I streamed my league start, the recordings are available (Day 1, Day 2). Campaign done with 4 sockets and even some of the early mapping before there was a need to upgrade to 5 sockets. Anybody can see how easy it is. I don't know what you are doing wrong to have a different experience. Ignoring Int on gear? Or resistances? Or not following the leveling guide/trees? At this point blaming it on the build is a bit silly.

Sure thing, if you want pure clear speed then there are many builds much better for that. You'll discover their limitations later on though.

The league mechanic is not properly tuned. That happens very often. Ignore it during the campaign and just play the core game until they patch it.

This build can't beat the Hive Fortress? Spoiler alert: 90% of the builds can't. There is a lot of complaints about the design of that thing on the forums. GGG are officially "working on it" and will hopefully get it fixed soon.

If you mean Hive Fortress then you are not alone. It's not properly tuned. Wait for a patch. They are "working on it".
About the Grafts:

- You cannot use the same type of graft in both hands, so we need 2 different ones.

- You can buy them in the trade league. They are currently very cheap.

- Here's the full list of mods that can appear on grafts

- Esh graft can have a mod 2-4% Increased Int. So that's a no-brainer for us.

- Other useful mods on Esh: +flat Int, %inc Spell damage

- For the other hand, Tul can have 6-10% Cold Penetration mod, and a Chance to get a Frenzy charge when you hit a Unique enemy. That's massive!

- Other useful mods on Tul: %inc Cold damage, %inc global crit chance, +global crit multi

- Skills auto-cast by the grafts can proc additional things like curses or shock. But the cooldown on those skills seems to be too long to rely on them.

Craft or buy a pair of hands Tul + Esh while they are cheap!
...and I just beat the Hive Fortress in T12. Pre-nerf. With 2100 Int, lv 91.

So much for 'this build can't do it'... XD
Very cool! I was about to ask how people were doing with the hives.

I cleared a fortress on Saturday, during the campaign, but didn't understand how to run out safely so died about 20% of the way to the exit.

I'm going to see if I can build up my defenses, combining ideas from the WI build as well as various poe.ninja builds for KB. Aiming for CI, int stacking, with maxed block and spell block.

Eventually we all need to leave home and go out in the world ourselves...
