Path of Exile 3.16 Balance - Part 2 - Core Character Defences and Recovery

God bless you guys for changing the status quo. People forget why they're playing this game. To overcome the challenge we are presented. Not to whine constantly about our favorite builds. Make a new one. Survive, you are an exile not a hero.

Once again they show how little they understand what truly balance mean.
And once again they just never learn.
And once again they are destroying huge amount of builds, because there is 1-2 strong builds ....

Sorry, but while Gladiator was having a strong defense part, which was obviously the main part in taking Gladiator, the damage was always lacking, ESPECIALLY for One hand + Shield.
Also you waste a lot of points to get high block chance.
They hit us hard with Tempest Shield change, cause i used it for some "extra" block, and i'm already full on auras.
Once again sorry, but this ain't a beta/alpha to do such a drastic changes from league to league. It's ridiculous.

But no problem, there is still garbage builds, that are 500% safer, because they are on huge range and are always safe, and do 500x more damage than melee builds, but yeah nerf the melee even more.

And tell me why in the blue hell should every mechanics be open to everyone? Isn't this Ascendancy for it for god sake? To give us a unique experience with the certain class? Where is the uniqueness in my build if everyone could get what i have ??? Why in the blue hell i will ever wanna touch Gladiator again ???? It was taken for 1 sole reason .......

while taking some of that power away from the one-off mechanics that provide a significant defence for too low a cost

"
Previously, there were some very tanky characters, but they were gated behind specific niche mechanics and uniques that were not accessible to everyone

This is so so wrong ....
You obviously has lost it, and you don't know what you are talking about, or what you are doing.

"
Evasion mitigates Attacks well, so we're introducing Spell Suppression to help Evasion builds protect themselves against Spells.

You actually kidding right? Cause Evasion was 500x time stronger than the Armor, and you are making it even more stronger now ......
Do you even play your own game for god sake ???

Tell me a one ***** reason why i should play this mess of a game, compare to ESO or New World ????

Dude I can barely kill maven 1 in 3 tries using all portals with Glad. Thats with a 630pdps sword and dual curse on gear i accumulated over more than 5 leagues. 2 curse ring and chest and shield were crafted when harvest came to standard. I have crit on the chest and damage per block on shield. Thats as good as it gets for me b4 mirror tier gear. No shit Glads tradeoff was lack of damage. But devs dont see that and just dumpster all my hard work. SST was strong last league so we should nerf all other gladiator builds. Wtf with max block and spell block chance of 50%??? nerfed defense AND damage! Bullshit change.

Honestly, im done with this game now...

Mirror tier gear on a bow character, but still only able to push 3.3k life. If i get hit once im dead. With the new removal of dodge i will die constantly, what can i do about that.

you can stop making a build with 3.3k life and make a build with 6.5 - 7.5k life which is more than possible for a bow ranger? like actually make a balanced character than doesnt spend 0 points on defence?

Oh right, something that is supposedly going to make them "more lucky". I'm sure it will be awesome because hoping you get lucky is such a great way not to die.

I'm sorry you don't like my attitude. But I'm just reacting to what I'm reading, which seems to me to be a shadow nerf disguising itself as a buff to so-called "core defenses". I could be wrong. But I'm just calling it like I see it.

You are :D Google is free my dude: https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Luck

Edit: Notes seem like an interesting change, looking forward to giving it a try!

I wonder what about the aura bot and the aura stack. After this thread, I can see that their defense power has increased, similarly will the base spella dps be reduced again?

Also, are you going to add at least a price comparison of items to PoE (everyone uses macros, except for people playing GFN). Trading on GFN is a torment ... Powered by 5 torments ...

And is it not possible to add to the dpassiv tree of preview options how the given kay will change our dps? This would help new players unfamiliar with the game. For which increase and more are the same.
I myself wonder how the people who play this game make their builds with million dps, and no matter how I try, no matter how strong items I drop, I did not exceed 1 million xD ..

How do you know I'm wrong about a hypothetical passive that doesn't even exist yet? That is if you are referring to my strong suspicion that this new Gladiator passive will not be nearly as good as the one they are removing.

I play this game to play a fucking game.

You want a challenge? Go dumpster diving for hypodermic needles without contracting some life ending illness or plan yourself a one way trip to some forgotten part of the world and try to get back to where you live.

There is no mechanical challenge in path of exile as a game. The only challenge here comes from understanding the game and willing to make the time investment to see things happen in the glorified build simulator that it actually is. Fucking with the core of the game, the builds for the sake of creating 'diversity' instead of actually putting in the effort to innovate and create more interesting content is a sure fire way to piss everyone off.
~ I am Wreaclast middle class and proud of it!
~ Poor investment =/= entitlement to compensation.
~ Build smart, build S-mart!
Nerfing one of the most balanced ascendancies that requires a lot of min-maxing in order to even be functional late game seems pretty shitty. Gladiators damage is significantly lower than many other ascendancies, especially Slayer and Champion which are within its own tree. The appeal was a lower investment requirement into block with major defensive benefits, at the cost of significantly lower damage even when min-maxed with the best possible gear.

That seems like a shitty way to kill an ascendancy and give absurd defensive power to other classes that dont need it while dealing 5-10 times the damage of a Gladiator.

Youre pretty much killing the ascendancy and throwing an RNG defensive mechanic at it to try and compensate, which is just flat out retarded. The entire point of these massive defensive changes is supposed to be to make defenses stronger and consistent with investment and youre just going to put in a "you may or may not die if your block is or isnt lucky" element into Gladiator. You clearly realize this isnt fun or good gameplay with the dodge/evasion changes, why add in something you know isnt fun and doesnt work ?

Blind is also nerfed which hits Gladiator substantially defensively as well.

In addition to this, map modifiers that reduce defensives still exist id presume, which are at what, 30-40% reductions based on tiers ? This just seems like catch-up mostly for the fact that those modifiers exist.
Harvest sucks! But look at my decked out gear two weeks in!

Labyrinth salt farm miner.

"But my build diversity" , "Game is too hard!" - Meta drone playing the same 1-3 builds for years.
This is all fine but for the billion'th time you can't do ANYTHING to drops until you actually buff drop rates. 99% of gear on the ground is garbage. That's why everyone crafts or trades for crafted items. If you want something on the ground to be an upgrade outside of the campaign you need to fundamentally change how that works. Why is this so hard to understand?
Woowww sounds so exhilarating. This will finaly enable more build diversity.
