" So many salty posts about the Gladiator changes "block is ruined for gladiator" "RIP Gladiator block" etc etc. I don't get it, they said that they were experimenting with putting "block chance is lucky" on the ascendancy passive for the gladiator. If it works the same as the keystone in the tree other than that it has "block chance is lucky" that's functionally almost the same as having 75% spell and attack block. I don't see how that would be a RIP for gladiator block? |

" well, i think that is the point -- niche builds whose core functionality rely on mechanics provided by a specific unique shouldn't be the norm. And cool mechanics that have traditionally only been available under strict conditions can be more accessible to a broader variety of builds and playstyles. the loss of one build or its modification sounds well worth the simplification of core defenses so that more builds and more creativity can thrive. |

" LOL, folks feel precious about the one thing they know best or love most, and will focus on the one thing that makes them fear its loss instead of all the buffs that will give them more options, even in re-imagining their favorite builds... with the simplification and general buffing of core defensive mechanics, I think a Gladiator won't have to choose whether to be "Max block but OMG where is my damage?" or "look how fast I kill as long as i don't get hit" |

" No ill means here... just asking for the sake of conversation, ok? Have you played a Gladiator Block build? Do you had the feeling of having 83% Attack and Spell block and yet being OHKO when the game (arbitrary) feels you are doing fine? As mentioned before... have you? We have to wait and see how this "Lucky" works. But, as "Lucky" work for players (83% chance to block = gets one shotted now and than) and how it works for Mobs (5% to hit = critical killing blow), doesn't brings hope for me... |

Anyone else see the loss of attack dodge as a HUGE nerf to end game evasion chars who were actually Evasion capped and had attack dodge?

" Gladiator "Lucky" block is a complicated way of giving another increase to maximum block, on top of the already 4% in the ascendancy, 3% on Anvil and 1% on corrupted shield. 2*(.83)-(.83)^2= 0.9711 This significantly increases the maximum survivability of the build, if you go Versatile Combatant in the tree (which you will). However the nerf here seems to be in the form of easy tank for very little investment. Now you will have to sacrifice a few more nodes to get Versatile Combatant. Please don't remove the increased cast speed mod on shield. Self-cast builds are already suffering from the lack of cast speed, and they don't deserve another nerf.
