Playing your way back to HARDCORE league.
Is there a difference in the quality of loot drops in HC verses DL for a given level? Since I can create a disposable character in HC and take anything over to DL just by dieing, if the reverse was available then why shouldn't I be able to take items from DL back to HC? It's not like I could do this very often, only once per HC character so why the big deal about preventing item transfer. It's just like my odds are low that any vendor will have a red/blue/green triple linked item that I can buy and resell for a Chromatic Orb. It doesn't happen very often so why shouldn't I be allowed to take items from DL back to HC on a one-time only transfer?

" ^ This. The devs have said they regard disconnection/lag/desync issues as act-of-god also, and when it happens to them, they shrug it off as part of the HC sacrifice and the fickle nature of the gods of Wraeclast. That's not to say they don't want to fix desync but it shows the mentality that players of this game should have. Kripp's also done a video about dealing with desync where his attitude is clearly the same. And before all the qq - no one's saying desync is an intentional part of the design. Just - until release, deal with it. You'll be a happier person when you learn to let go, kids. IGN: ScrubcoreRulezBitch

" Now you are just being facetious. As we all know PoE was created out of a desire to be a grittier more intence arpg. We already have TL2 for those who think PoE is too difficult. No one here wants that. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

" That's a great example of the GGG PoE devs doing a marketing spin to make a defect into a game play feature. Some one in New Zealand is taking Madison Avenue courses in marketing double speak. I guess selling ice cubes to the Eskimos is really possible with the right kind of presentation. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

" Not too good at reading are ya pal? Or just being facetious yourself? It's nothing to do with marketing or spin as I and other players have the same feel about the situation and this 'view' was not 'sold' to us at any point - I heard this from a dev, privately, when pressed to answer what they think when it happens to them. No one accepts it as final - it's just not worth getting your panties in a bunch about and/or hoping to change other core game systems to compensate for. This is great! I can get a bunch of level 2 characters in HC, have them die, load them up with all the great stuff I have in default, and get it back to my HC stash ! Best. suggestion. ever.

" Nope, all I was suggesting with this post was a way to lessen the permanent impact of dieing in HC due to accidents or circumstances beyond our control (desync). I know the devs are hard at work on this problem as Chris has stated many times. Nothing new there. Ok, so I went into fecetious mode myself for a moment. As more players find creative ways to use the passive skill tree and gems, when a player comes up with a build that works extremely well and can faceroll in the end game maps, the devs are quick to nerf the way that player's skill allowed him to create a better build. Since playing PoE is all about experimenting with the character builds, if you or I come up with a "better mouse trap" and create a powerful character that works great at high levels, should we be penalized for our efforts? Of couse not! Thus if we die in HC due to "circumstances beyond our control", should we not be given the chance to overcome that "fate of god", "bad luck", or whatever you want to call it, in the effort to make playing PoE more balanced and hopefully more enjoyable? Yes, I know one mans pain is another mans pleasure so I don't really see the devs. can solve this amicably for most. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."

I don't know if this is considered a bug or an exploit but there is a way to get back into hardcore league after you've died and gone over to default. When on the character creation screen there is a button labelled 'create'. Clicking that and then setting the drop down box to 'hardcore' puts you right back into HC league. Do it now before they patch it out.
