[3.14] Just do not die 4head | Tanky Divine Ire ignite Inquisitor | league starter
" Herald of Purity buff scales physical damage (Grants (9-12)% more Physical Damage), which is on divine ire itself and on the sceptre. This is then converted to lightning, which through stormfire is igniting the enemies. So the higher you have physical damage, the higher is the base damage, from which the ignite is calculated. This is even more effective when you are stacking phys as extra lightning damage as I recommend on boots and amulet. " This is true that VMS soaks less, but at the same time it gives higher AR and more eHP. As this build has high sustain this means that VMS smooths out the damage for a prolonged time. Of course, it will not prevent from one-shot slams, but these are "easily" dodged just by walking. To my personal experience, I tend to die more to being randomly swarmed by mobs than the end-game bosses. So VMS helps here big time. Regarding the interruption - it interrupts regular MS, but you do not need to stand still or anything. Call VMS anytime you need, and it will just stop the current MS, if you have it. So you just keep having a different buff. As for breaking EE this is true (same for flame dash), but it will be reset back to lightning the moment you start to channel DI (the hits by the tendrils), so this is a minor thing. Anyway, even if you keep regular MS, the build should still be tanky. " Thanks :) DI ignite inquisitor: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3080303/

Thanks for the reply! Now I undertand VMS a bit better.
As for the HoP buff, aren't "increased" and "more" hit damage ignored when calculating ignite? As I understood you earlier post, only flat increases and "gained as extra.." are relevant..? |

" This is a very good question and after reading again the ignite description I am actually puzzled. The base damage should not be affected by more multipliers... Same for conversion. On the other hand, herald of purity gives a solid chunk of damage increase according to PoB. Same with the circle of guilt. I have also checked what other DI ignite builds suggest, and they all have herald of purity in their setup. So there must be something I am missing. Hey, I don't post often on the official forums, but I have some questions on the leveling for a league start. Wouldn't having added fire damage hinder Elemental Overload from proccing on magic/rare wands. In addition, would getting Ashcaller to be a good idea during the first 2-3 days of the league while using storm brand or similar skills. Thanks for the well-constructed build.

" Hey. The build is definitely startable, but as I have written - two (small) transitions are needed: fireball+flamewall -> incinerate -> divine ire. See the leveling section. " You probably meant Elemental Equilibrium, which is indeed hindered by flat added fire damage. However, this is only a concern in late red maps when your incinerate's damage starts to fall-off, and you may want to take EE to push a little bit further. Personally, by this time, I would just already buy stormfire (from character lvl 80) and go with divine ire. Of course, avoid any flat fire damage with DI as well, but this can be easily done with phys/lightning sceptres. Check the gear progression for more details. " Storm brand is a fantastic league starter, but it is very bad for scaling the ignites due to low base damage. Moreover, the lightning damage is not able to ignite unless you have stormfire of course (from lvl 80) or going elementalist. Thus, if you want to stick with brands, I would go rather with armageddon brand. Probably scaling it as hit-based and not ignite-based would work out better. Take Augury of Penitence instead of Instruments of Zeal (something I am thinking of as a permanent recommendation). The respec should not cost that many orbs of regret anyway. If you want smoother transition sticking to the ignite theme (no regrets used), I proposed fireball+flamewall until maps, then incinerate, and finally divine ire. Thanks for the clarifications, loving the idea of the build and will probably test the leveling phase when patch notes get announced. Another question, would you typically find the stormfire ring in trade cheap on the 2nd day or would you need to wait a couple of days after the league starts? I've seen plenty of builds where the required unique becomes available a week after launch.

" Hey. If you find a way to level faster just let me know. I am not a speed runner, so my usual story times are like 8-10 hours (3 labs included). Fireball + flamewall are just very relaxed way and they fit in the ignite theme. " Just checked stormfire prices during ultimatum. It started with 18c on the first day just to drop to 2c the second day. You should be safe on this side. Ashcaller should also be quite available as this is just a very popular drop (I had multiple of them in SSF leveling). You will probably want to wait one week before buying the chest though. Check my notes in PoB where I was noting the estimated times of buying the equipment. Of course, this is not something to follow 1:1 as I was still experimenting a lot. This looks like a really interesting build.
Since it came out I have loved using Divine Ire, but struggled to find viable builds that use it as you have to stop to channel it, and this being POE, the Zoom Zoom meta is real. |

" Hey! First of all please check the mechanics description and the gearing breakdown. I was trying to explain there how to make the steps towards the endgame setup. I have checked your build and you have a big problem with Elemental Equilibrium (see the mechanics). Your sceptre has added fire damage, so every time you hit, you are actually raising the fire resistance of the enemy, which dramatically lowers ignite damage. I am very sorry, but you need to recraft the sceptre to lightning one probably on crusader base and try to hit +phys/lightning spell or phys as extra lightning with an open prefix (might be veeery expensive) or just stick with the super cheap Doryani's Catalyst sceptre in cost of pathing to the EE and moving the Glorious Vanity under the templar start. In current situation it will give you 90% MORE damage!!! Definitely worth taking. The other thing is not to use Sorrow of the Divine flask as it completely removes your life regen, which in combination with Glorious Vanity makes you very vulnerable to damage. Diamond flask is also useless here and so is Rumi, which should be replaced by a magic flask. Please check the gearing section and follow the flasks basically one-to-one for the moment. You are loosing tons of defenses by running the wrong flask setup (remember about flask quality). You may also want to search for the Skin of the Loyal/Lords with the right colors to replace your current chest. It is another 10% damage increase and a good boost to AR. Your Circle of Guilt also does not help you much other than just giving 4% phys damage reduction. Look for the one with increased buff effect. Check the gearing section. Other than that - try to level the gems a little. You are using lvl 13 Divine Ire, and you will see a vast difference when you will go to lvl 20 or 21 (search for 21/20 divine ire - should be cheap). Also do not forget about the quality on the support gems, especially on the awakened ones as they give fire DoT multi. DI ignite inquisitor: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3080303/
