[3.21] Cold Conversion Summoner | Build guides for all budgets | (Ghazzy Zoomancer)

@Deadandlivin

Why don't we use Slave Drivers as our Specters ? They are spell-based, so their scaling is similar to Phantasm's. Their Cast Time is 0.5s, which is even less than SO's Attack Time. Seems like a perfect option for me.

Edit. For some reason PoB shows their cast rate as 0.7, which is not great. However, according to poedb they may be better.

Are there updated PoB's?
The first post has been updated yesterday with the scourge PoBs. Also you could just browse through the last 5 pages, the question and the links have been posted multiple times

There are several reasons why Slave Driver's don't fit this build in particular.
The first is because we're mainly using spectres for clearspeed.
Slavedriver's have bad cleraspeed, simply because the spell they use (Lightning Whip) is a short range psuedo melee spell that can't be supported by GMP.
It's a excellent bossing ability, but while mapping they're basically a melee minion. Another annoying thing with Slave Drivers is that they have an inbuilt "flee" mechanic in their AI. This causes them to try to kite monsters and run away whenever they take damage. Teir movement speed is VERY high though.

The cast speed of their spell is fast (0.5 sec) but Lightning Whip also comes with a cast time penalty of 65% built into the ability so it's actually 0.5 * 1,65 seconds long.
The reason why SOs simply are superior to procc phantasm isn't their attack speed or long range alone, but because of their projectiles trigger which causes them to fire 3 projectiles with each attack. This tripples the procc chance of Phantasm for them making them extremely strong for single target and having a 100% uptime on all phantasms.

A second reason is that Slave Drivers are lightning spectres. This means we would have to scale lightning damage instead of cold.
Unfortunately, we don't want to run 4 blue Triad Grips for 100% lightning conversion (Needed for Pahtasms and Carrion Golem) because Lightning builds pretty much must run Algor Mortis gloves which causes shocked enemies in chilled areas take 35% increased lightning damage. This acts as a 35% more multiplier and essentially is as powerful as adding another support gem to our mininos. We simply can't use both those gloves and Triad Grip.

That being said, it got me thinking if maybe we could make a Lightning version of the build again.
But running with Lightning Golems for clearspeed and Slave Drivers for single target. That way we could still run Algor Mortis (Can't use Phantasms though because they will be Phys). With the extra aura you now can fit we would run Zealotry + Wrath + Skitterbots. Skitterbots also provides free chilling areas for the gloves too.

This also opens up to use Doriyanas Institute body armour where we can lower enemy lightning resist to -200% which might be easy to accomplish this league with the new Scourge corrupts as a downside is to get negative resistances on gear. This would mean we would use Assassin's Mark and Punishment as curses for massive multipliers instead.
The only problem I see is finding a way convert lightning damage to other damage types because running around with -200% lightning resistance is MonkaS

Hi Deadandlivin,

first of all thanks for this in deph Guide. Helped me a lot in terms of general understanding of several things in PoE.

I read it completely and planned to play the original Version.
Unfortunately its not possible anymore with the recent Changes :/

My Plan is to start full phys. Carrion Golems first and then either swap to Stone Golems or your new Version. (i gonna wait for your Opinion if Hyrris Watch Spectres working as expected :P)

Still got some Questions:

1. aren´t Hyyris Watch Spectres Legion Mobs? ( a specific Legion Type?)
2. Are there changhes to your Animate guardian Setup? ( especially Helmet makes me curious)

i whish you a good Leaguestart! good luck and loot :D

Hi! Glad you like the guide :)

I'm moving away from recommending the pure phys version we used before.
I simply can't promote it any longer with the new leveling build I've created for this league.
(You can find the PoB on the front page)
That version literally does more than 3 times the damage compared to the old one. I even recorded a video where I cleared an Awakened9 T14 Rare map straight after killing Act10 Kitava.

This leveling build is superior in every way imagineable.
The best thing about it is that you can go and raise your spectres in Act7. You don't have to wait for SOs like before when leveling with this version.
This version uses Artless Assassins while waiting for our endgame spectres.

Go to my first post on the mainpage and read the 0. League information at the top.

I decided to ditch Hyrri's Watch spectres. They didn't work out as planned with the new build because their attack speed was too slow to summon Phantasm.
But guess what? We moved back to SOs and they keep spitting out phantasms like machines :)

I'm really happy about this itteration of the build.
It's incredibly strong, WAAAY stronger than the build we had in Expedition.
Got a video here of how the low budget version will performs.
Was able to kill Shaper and Elder guardians with Guardians Aid(Double bosses) while witnessed by Maven without any problems.
The clearspeed also feels even smoother than before since we basically doubled our army with 11 phantasms who also blast the screen with GMP projectiles everywhere.

I'm not sure about Hyrr's Watch. I still would like to include them, simply because they're cool and do double the damage of SOs.
I'm currently trying out running 2 SOs and 2 Hyrri's Watch spectres which might be the optimal setup. 2 SOs seems enough to keep 11 phantasm out at all times, even versus bosses.
Updated Leveling and Budget PoBs:

Had to update the PoBs because there was "outdated" information in them.
Example of changes include putting SOs back into the build, some efficiency fixes, changing AG gear(Helm to Leercast from Crown of the Tyrant because MonkaS prices) and updating the notes alot.

Also learned that Purity of Elements will reserve 50% mana so had to change alot of the information regarding the auras.

Here are the new PoBs(Front page also updated):

Leveling Build: https://pastebin.com/EssTWv6g

Lowbudget https://pastebin.com/fgd2Vzsa

Lowbudget(Tanky): https://pastebin.com/P50c4ZpZ

If you're using any of the older PoBs I released before, make sure to download one of the latest versions.

Before chosing this build, make sure to watch a video how it plays to know whether the build fits you and your playstyle:

I played carrion golem a few leagues back when phys was the go to style. I understand the conversion of cold damage is best with triad... but here's some questions I've got.

1) why does your mid-high tier build have a 12 cluster? Is that the only viable option to spend the extra 4 points on from a 8 cluster?

2) I saw within the same build you have a fortress within your spot normally for a medium cluster - doesn't this affect the vicious bite from the large cluster?

3) I noticed this is a HP build - have you thought about / tried making an ES build and grabbing CI? I noticed that each of the builds have a neg chaos res. I was under the impression that while chaos res wasn't detrimental you did want it above zero.

4) Are there any notable uni's that were added in 3.15 or 3.16 that I should be looking at? (Last I played was 3.14)

5) Do you plan to keep AG within the ring socket with +3 to minion?

( the long multi part question)

6) I saw someone state that the build will end up running more auras than the previous league. Last time I ran carrion I was running 11 auras - the build I followed had 6 but with some changes to PoB and higher tier jewels I was able to make it to 11. Is there an idea as to how many this build can do in 3.16 and will the 1% jewels be a thing in this build? Which auras will be necessary for this build to work and which auras will give QoL?
Wow thanks for the detailed answer!

one thing i forgot

I case your spectres die do you visit the spots they exist to manually resummon them or do you create a alt character lvl 28 with a "specte bank"

(i have to say i dont even know how this desecrate saving spectre corpses really works )
2Deadandlivin
different setup of gems in lvling and low budget POB for spectres?
why if lvling setup gems look higher DPS number?
