Just to throw a bit more hopium in the mix, Bex posted this on Twitter:
"I can't give you exact numbers just yet, but we're planning to adjust some Minion passives to include more increases to Minion Damage." " Dark Pact will defnitely be a good league starter and a contender for the strongest necro build this league. Definitely should give it a try if you want a strong build. Endgame versions of Dark Pact can hit over 100 million dps with high investment. |

" Still making it work. I've got some niche ideas up my sleeves ;) Problem obviously is that we will need more investment to do the same things we're accustomed to. As mentioned earlier, I don't think the early game (Start -> Red maps/early Sirus) will be any problem at all. The lategame won't be an issue either as we still will be able to scale with super strong gear once we pour exalteds into the build. The problem will be the midgame. That time during which we usually start looking into medium cluster jewels and killing bosses like Guardians and Maven invitations. These things will actually turn out to be MUCH harder with EE nerfed. Still beatable if you're good at dodging abilities but we'll be dying alot here. Our single target also took quite a big hit from having SO being completely unable to deal single target damage. Instead we'll run Hyrri's Watchers which we have to gemswap for single target bosses like guardians and Sirus Hopefully this will be enough. Carrion Golems should still do good single target. The current lowbudget PoBs I'm working on are able to reach ~6 million DPS right now which should be fine. But I'm using more medium budget concepts to make it work than before (Like adding primordial jewels early, they're cheap nowadays anyway). Before league start I'm planning on releasing a earlygame/leveling PoB and a lowbudget early mapping PoB. I will have to redesign later budgets completely during the league when we find out new stuff. The entire buildguide will need a revamp once I'm finished with the league. |

" The changes are out. We get 40% additional minion damage from the Redemption wheel and 8% additional minion damage in the Death Attunement Wheel. Welcome for sure. Redemption is actually massive right now as it provides 40% minion damage, 16% attack speed and 10% movement speed. I was hoping for buffs to Ravenouz Horde and a complete revamp to our masteries which are garbage but you can't get it all :) Even if our damage was nerfed alot there are alot of positives coming. The efficiency changes allows us to fit another big Aura into the build. Sovreignity alone gives 44% mana efficiency with the mastery. This allows us to go Hatred + Skitterbots + Buffed determination AND buffed Grace(With Auls). With the new buffed armour and evasion changes aswell this will hopefully make us alot tankier. The new AG gloves will also allow us to get explodey mods on the build which could be massive for mapping if the gloves aren't too rare/expensive. With EE gone we wont have to bother with getting storm brand and stuff to inflict EE either so we'll be hardcasting curses instead. This frees up 2 skill gem slots to fit new Auras like Determination and Vitality. Also, selfcasted curses get Doom charges which help DPS. There are good things coming, just gotta look outside the box. As mentioned though, the problem right seem to be how to get the damage scaling. The removal of both EE and medium cluster Jewels is very quiestionable. |

How about going Elementalist for the added cold exposure? Elementalist Mastermind of Discord gets an extra 25% exposure.. it can be applied with Wave of Conviction (with some added cold on gear) or Frost Bomb for a total of 40% (or 46% with the helm enchant). Would be a way to still scale damage up with the AG helm.
Also gets +2 Golems (so an extra 50% dmg on bosses going from 4 to 6) and a tiny shield for some elemental EHP. Minions would be squishier though, which could be a problem for the AG/Spectres.. the Golems would resummon themselves. That's the part I'm not sure about (loss of resists/levels/HP). Ascendant could also be an option - the Elementalist option there gives an extra 20% exposure + 1 extra golem. Not sure about the 2nd ascendancy, maybe Guardian/Deadeye/Champion? Would also give us 8 extra skill points to work with. The new Skin of the Lords does give +2 instead of +1, and woke minion damage also gives an extra +1.. if less people run minions it shouldn't be terrible in price. That should more or less cover the 2 free skill levels Necro would have. |

The DPS is fairly close/comparable on POB for elementalist. Necro has about 10-15% extra on golems, depending on gear, crit and curses (but with two less of them). Spectres seem almost the same.
You do lose minion HP and Resists - that's the part I'm not too sure about. Haven't tried playing non-Necro. Still, trying out the other two ascendancy options could open things up a bit more. For pure spectres I wouldn't consider Elementalist. (Necro is definitely tankier, overall - I dont think the Elementalist Aegis sounds very impressive.. I was more intrigued with the potential Ascendant may have, but that'd depend on what the extra 8 points would give the character) Last edited by Zegai#6797 on Oct 19, 2021, 9:13:45 AM

Dumb question: Following the updated cheat sheet from reddit, we have still medium clusters to scale?
Medium Cluster Jewel - 6% increased effect of Non-Curse Auras from your Skills with: Precise Commander "You and nearby Allies have 25% increased Critical Strike Chance You and nearby Allies have 10% to Critical Strike Multiplier" and Vengeful Commander "Anger has 15% increased Aura Effect Wrath has 15% increased Aura Effect Hatred has 15% increased Aura Effect" |
