Freeze Mine

Apparently this skill can be supported by Added Cold Damage, now. In what way? Is the "chill" duration from Added Cold Damage applied to the Freeze duration the mines cause, or is it just the token damage bonus?

Also, how does Breath of Rime affect this skill?

What if I applied both to a Freeze Mine?
The "token" damage bonus (why do people hate ACD so much? ALD is of equal strength but it's fine apparently?) is added to the 'damage' of Freeze Trap. FT does not Chill, so Chill duration doesn't do much of anything...

Under normal circumstances that is. Breath of Rime means monsters are Chilled when they thaw, which means Freeze Mine will also Chill monsters (ergo it works exactly as the description states). With Added Cold, it will Chill for a century.

Well, level 15 Freeze Mine freezes as if doing a little more than 1.2k damage. With level 15 ACD support, it's a little less than 1.3k damage. That's pretty token. That said, if with Breath of Rime AND ACD it freezes as if doing ~1.3k damage and then chills as if doing ~2k damage, that's pretty amazing. I'm sure that if, for other purposes, you take ACD and dual-wield daggers or foils and stack it with hatred and increased cold damage it can be pretty badass.

Of course, Breath of Rime needs to be somewhere on the tree that some build interested in these kinds of shenanigans can actually get at it instead of being surrounded by mediocre wand passives, mediocre staff passives, and mediocre curse passives.

How does Freeze Mine interact with Elemental Equilibrium? Does a hit occur and does that hit proc EE? What would happen in that same scenario if I added an Added Lightning Damage support gem to the mine?

Totally agree.

Is it logic that you can perma-freeze ALL mobs on screen including ALL bosses
making no sense whatever difficulty lvl or map lvl you are in???

This thing should be nerfed imo to reasonable case - it's OP in ANY instance
making high-end PvE content non-competive to players.

Anyone also thinks so?

Prolif does the same as Inc. AoE, but better.
