Is rubber banding still there?

To any who wish to test if desync is still in game or not, go ahead and try to speed clear a pillars of arun dunes unique map. It should only cost you 1c to buy and youll very quickly discover for yourself if desyncs exists or not.

Other than that I have minimal issues with rubber banding. The only other would be movement skills across large gaps. Not repeated use. Just if you go to a location the game is unsure you were able to get to.

Yep, that's a thing.

I have played PoE (PS4) on both commercial fiber connections with Static IP and crappy ADSL. Both wired and wireless on both connections.

It makes very little difference when it comes to Desync.

I mentioned that as the only way available to you to try to improve your experience. It's what you can affect that doesn't involve switching platforms.

I play on XBox.

My gameplay experience now, after a long bout of patches from back when I first started playong on XBox to now, is excellent. All the complaints people mention that seem to be around rampant "desync" experiences? They don't apply to me, even though I am also on a "console." (Xbox S, normal install, no external SSD in use for this.)

I don't play on PS4. I stated that fact.

So, aside from telling you to go out and buy an XBox, the only thing I can recommend is that you do your upmost to have a good, stable, clean internet connection. That's the variable you can control for unless you opt to play on an XBox or PC.

Or, you can just sit in the thread and scream and hope that GGG finally optimizes the game for PS4 so you, too, can have a good gameplay experience like I do.

I wasn't the one who started this thread. I don't "sit in the thread and scream". This one or any other.

I offer players suggestions as to what might help.

When I see a suggestion that probably won't help (such as repeatedly blaming connection, when I have firsthand experience that says connection isn't the problem), then I say as much.

And if you never experience Desync, I'd wager it's related to the builds you play, rather than the console you use. But I could be wrong. I've never played on XBox, so my only judge of it is from what people complain about here on the forums.

But on PS4, there are builds that will (essentially) never desync, and builds that will desync many times per hour. I'd be surprised if XBox is all that different... unless you guys have the "lockstep" option in your options? We don't--PS4 is permanently stuck on Predictive (it's not shown in the options at all... but the way the desyncs occur proves it's predictive, not lockstep).
Morkonan, mate you are talking like you did not experienced Xbox release issues =)) I did ask about rubber banding because it was horrible when the game released for PS4 and I did not touch after it. Because of rubber banding issue. And my LATENCY is kind of better than most of players.

So, it was a game related issue. As I said I gave it a try again and it seems fixed (mostly).

Also thank you for your suggestions and contributions.

You are correct.

I DO feel strongly that PS4 players are not getting the attention they deserve in terms of optimization efforts. Though, recently, that seems to have changed and GGG made some kind of "breakthrough" in optimizing PS4 performance. I'm happy that happened! Truly.

PS4 players didn't deserve the experience they received... And, with my first experience in Abyss... I didn't deserve that crap, either. :)

Note: I've found some decreased performance issues in the current Delve SSF League in terms of "rubber-banding." In Delve league, it didn't seem to be as bad or as frequent, though Delve league barely functioned at ALL on XBox for weeks. :) My original Delve League character was an old Enki's Arc Witch build, which tends to be very quick with good movement abilities. This short Delve SSF League,

I'm using a customized ED/Contagion build that has similar, even better, movement options and I generally tend to get rubber-banded after a screen or two of movement. (Connection is fairly pristine.) I don't know if they have this on a reduced load server or something other than their standard sort since this is probably a smaller league or not. /shrug

I just came back to report on my current rubber-banding experience. :)

PS: I realize I came off a bit short, earlier. Sorry. It's just that there have been a lot of players complaining about their experience, but few of those seeming to pay much attention to their connections. It was at the point where it was so common GGG had to post on it and had to take efforts to inform players of the most basic of considerations, like "Don't try to play this game on just a Wi-Fi connection for your console."

Anyways, apologies - I'm sorry. I hope the newer PS4 patches have improved PS4-player's experiences.
